Reveleer Welcomes Dr. Jean-Luc Neptune as New Chief Medical Officer to Enhance Digital Health Strategy
Reveleer Welcomes Dr. Jean-Luc Neptune as Chief Medical Officer
Reveleer, a pioneering company in AI-enhanced value-based care, has announced the appointment of Dr. Jean-Luc "JL" Neptune as their new Chief Medical Officer. This strategic decision is set to bolster the company's clinical direction, particularly in risk adjustment, quality improvement, and member management programs that serve 12 million lives across the United States.
Dr. Neptune brings over two decades of experience at the intersection of clinical practice and technology, having worked both as a physician and a digital health entrepreneur. His unique background positions him to integrate AI into clinical workflows effectively. He will guide how Reveleer leverages artificial intelligence to improve the delivery of care, especially as AI becomes increasingly critical in patient assessment and treatment.
According to the recent Reveleer 2026 State of Technology in Value-Based Care report, there's a significant gap between AI adoption and the operational readiness of health plans. Many organizations are seeking AI solutions that can scale rapidly and provide trustworthy data. With the processing of over 2 billion pages of medical records for risk adjustment and quality programs, Reveleer is aimed at mitigating this gap through its EVE™ AI platform. This tool offers clinical suggestions backed by direct references to medical records, enabling coders and clinicians to validate information before final interpretation.
Jay Ackerman, CEO of Reveleer, emphasized the importance of clinical judgment in AI development. He noted, "Clinical judgement has to shape our AI long before any suggestion reaches a reviewer." As risk adjustment and quality initiatives transition from after-visit chart reviews to real-time interactions, having AI that suggests clinical improvements while the patient is still present in the room is essential.
Dr. Neptune commented on his new role, stating, "I've spent my career on both sides of the chart, as the physician writing the note and as the founder building software around it. Clinicians trust AI when it shows its work, and every suggestion should lead straight to the evidence a physician would look for." He recognizes the industry's shift toward AI and the need for health plans and providers to clearly delineate areas that require clinician discretion.
Before joining Reveleer, Dr. Neptune was the Clinical Commercial Leader at Commure, where he focused on implementing digital solutions to streamline care pathways using AI. His background includes founding multiple startups, investing in promising health tech businesses, and operating a direct care clinic. He holds a medical degree from Columbia University/NewYork-Presbyterian and is board-certified in internal medicine, paired with an MBA from Wharton School.
As part of his commitment to furthering conversations about the role of clinical judgment in AI deployment, Dr. Neptune and CEO Jay Ackerman will engage in a live fireside chat titled "Keeping Clinical Judgment at the Center of AI in Value-Based Care" on November 10, 2026. This session will delve into Dr. Neptune's journey from practicing medicine to leading innovations in health care, covering vital areas where AI must integrate seamlessly into clinical workflows.
