Allstate and Tyler Adams Unveil Mini-Pitch in Philadelphia

Allstate, in collaboration with the U.S. Soccer Foundation, recently inaugurated a mini-pitch at Bell Avenue Elementary School in Yeadon, Pennsylvania. The unveiling, which occurred on May 31, 2025, marks a significant step in a broader initiative aimed at providing safe and engaging play spaces for youth in underserved communities. This effort aligns with a multi-year partnership with U.S. Men's National Team midfielder Tyler Adams, targeted to foster youth participation in soccer.

This exciting event welcomed over 75 children aged 9 to 12, who actively took part in a youth clinic organized by grassroots partner Black Star. This national community platform works to uplift Black soccer players, coaches, and fans, ensuring that the sport is accessible to all. Elizabeth Brady, Allstate’s executive vice president and chief marketing, customer, and communications officer, highlighted the company's commitment to creating safer spaces where young athletes can thrive. "This mini-pitch is more than just a place to play; it's a foundation for building stronger, more connected communities," she stated.

The celebration turned into a vibrant block party featuring local food trucks, music from a DJ, inflatable soccer games, and an appearance by Tyler Adams himself. Adams interacted with the attendees, emphasizing the importance of access to safe play areas for children. "Partnering with Allstate to create this mini-pitch means a lot to me, not just because it's about soccer, but because it's about access," he explained. Adams outlined his own experiences growing up without such facilities and expressed his desire to offer similar opportunities to children in need.

This mini-pitch in Philadelphia is the second installment in a three-year initiative where Allstate will donate one mini-pitch annually to underserved communities nationwide. The first pitch was unveiled in 2024 at Fisher Academy in Detroit. Mini-pitches are designed for both casual and organized play, originating as hard-court surfaces that provide accessible and permanent locations to grow the sport. These installations have proven effective in keeping kids active while boosting public safety.

Ed Foster-Simeon, president and CEO of the U.S. Soccer Foundation, expressed excitement about continuing the collaboration with Adams and Allstate, highlighting their joint mission to increase youth access to safe play spaces.
