Ecomondo 2025: A Major Green Economy Event Set in Italy with Over 100 Events
Ecomondo 2025: Shaping a Sustainable Future in Italy
From November 4 to 7, 2025, the city of Rimini will host Ecomondo, the premier event for the green economy in Europe and the Mediterranean region, organized by the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG). This year, the event is set to feature more than 100 activities aimed at addressing global environmental issues and innovative solutions. With an exhibition space exceeding 166,000 square meters, Ecomondo serves as an international platform for dialogue and collaboration among businesses, institutions, and academia.
IEG's CEO, Corrado Peraboni, emphasized that this event will reaffirm its role in facilitating high-profile discussions in the green economy sector, encouraging sustainability and environmental responsibility. The 2025 program includes an exciting lineup of conferences and workshops, addressing crucial topics such as circular economy practices, green technologies, and the integration of nature-based solutions in urban planning.
One of the standout events is the Green Economy General Assembly, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment and the National Council of the Green Economy. This gathering will focus on strategic discussions surrounding environmental policies and the future direction of green initiatives in Italy and beyond.
The conference program, curated by the Ecomondo Scientific Committee under the leadership of Professor Fabio Fava, will feature significant topics such as soil health, which is increasingly recognized as vital for sustainable agriculture and ecosystem management. Additionally, the restoration sector will also be a point of focus, promoting innovative practices to rehabilitate degraded lands and improve biodiversity.
Moreover, Ecomondo will shed light on the use of satellite technology through a conference titled ‘From Sky to Ground,’ organized by the Polytechnic University of Turin, CINECA, and the Spatial Agency. This session will explore the applications of remote sensing and Earth observation in monitoring environmental changes and supporting climate action.
Technological solutions for reusing end-of-life materials will come into play with events organized by Società Chimica Italiana-CABC Division, ISWA international, and ATIA-ISWA. These sessions will provide insights on recovery systems and resource management in the Mediterranean region, enhancing circular economy strategies.
Another highlight of Ecomondo 2025 is the conference on innovative water management. Co-hosted by the European Commission and other international partners, this event will spotlight nature-based, digital, and cyber-physical projects in water management, emphasizing the importance of sustainable practices in the face of global water scarcity challenges.
Furthermore, Ecomondo will address the future of bioeconomy through a session titled ‘What Kind of Bioeconomy for Future Generations?’ targeting younger demographics in the Mediterranean and Africa. This discourse aims to foster new ideas and approaches towards regenerative practices that benefit both the economy and ecosystems.
The African Green Growth Forum will also return with its fifth edition, inviting investors, policymakers, and professionals from across the continent to share experiences and case studies focused on sustainable development. This forum serves as an important networking opportunity to forge partnerships and collaborative efforts essential for driving green growth.
Ecomondo 2025 promises to be a landmark event for anyone interested in the future of environmental responsibility and innovation. Don’t miss the opportunity to engage with global leaders in green technology and sustainable practices at this significant gathering.
