A Taste of Kyoto in Tokyo: The Kinobi Room
In October 2025, JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo opened in the vibrant Takanawa Gateway City, bringing a unique blend of luxury and local culture. From May 13, 2026, for a limited six months, the hotel's hidden gem, the bar '4-0-3', will transform into the 'Kinobi Room', a pop-up experience that immerses guests in the essence of Kyoto's premier craft gin, 'Kinobi'.
Discover Kinobi's Unique Craftsmanship
Kinobi, born from the first gin distillery in Japan - the Kyoto Distillery, embodies a philosophy of harmony between Eastern and Western elements. This one-of-a-kind Japanese craft gin is made from rice spirits, infusing local botanicals such as yuzu, gyokuro tea, and sansho pepper, among others. The result is a delicate and uniquely flavored gin that reflects Kyoto's rich cultural tapestry.
At the Kinobi Room, guests can enjoy a serene atmosphere reminiscent of the Kyoto brand's home, the 'Kinobi House'. Here, meticulous decor reminiscent of a traditional Kyoto townhouse enhances the experience, featuring dry landscape motifs and lanterns that contribute to a tranquil setting. The menu, refreshed every two months, will offer special seasonal cocktails infused with Japanese botanicals.
Seasonal Cocktails That Celebrate Nature
Throughout the event, the bar will showcase various cocktails that highlight the best of the season. Featuring ingredients like 'Kinobi Kyoto Dry Gin', each cocktail introduces unique elements from local tea gardens, such as 'Kino TEA Kyoto Dry Gin', blended with specially selected gyokuro and matcha tea. From May to June, guests can expect refreshing cocktail creations, including three types themed around tea, available at a price of ¥3,000 each (taxes and service included).
- - Kinobi TEA Martini: A refined martini using Kinobi's special tea blend, balancing fragrant green tea with citrus notes – an elegant drink that embodies sophistication.
- - Kinobi Matcha Tonic: A sophisticated gin and tonic where the gentle bitterness of matcha enhances the citrus aroma from Kinobi, resulting in a beautifully harmonious drink.
- - Kinobi SEIgloni: Built on the robust Kinobi SEI gin, this smooth Negroni blends herbal bitterness with the creamy texture of milk, showcasing a unique cocktail reserved for event attendees.
Exclusive Tasting Event with Guest Ambassador
On June 26, 2026, a closed-tasting seminar will be held featuring Kinobi's Global Ambassador, Takuma “Mercy” Masashi. This seminar is a unique opportunity for guests to taste unreleased gin blends directly from the distillation process. Following this, an exclusive cocktail event will invite participants to enjoy specially curated cocktails, meticulously crafted for the occasion.
