GAC Group Expands European Electric Vehicle Market with AION V Launch in Finland
GAC Group Launches AION V in Finland
On September 23, 2025, GAC Group officially introduced its global strategic electric SUV, the AION V, in Finland. This event signifies a key milestone in the company’s European market expansion, making Finland the third European country to welcome GAC vehicles. The launch is part of GAC's broader plan to establish a strong foothold in the high-quality electric vehicle market across Nordic regions.
The introduction of the AION V in Finland is crucial to GAC’s pan-European strategy, which gained momentum following a global cooperation agreement with Inchcape during the 2024 Paris Motor Show. This partnership leverages Inchcape's established sales and service network alongside GAC's cutting-edge technology, benefiting Finnish consumers and the broader European market. Finland marks the initial launch site in this collaboration, with plans for subsequent expansions into other European nations.
Designed to align with Finland's sustainability, safety, and space priorities, the AION V boasts impressive technological advancements and user experience. It achieved a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP in 2025, underscoring its superior automotive safety standards. Additionally, the vehicle offers a generous WLTP range of 510 kilometers and is capable of ultra-fast charging, going from 10 to 80% in just 24 minutes. This feature, coupled with Finland's growing network of charging stations, alleviates range anxiety for electric vehicle owners.
The AION V's spacious interior, along with a 2,775 mm wheelbase and a trunk capacity of 427 liters, caters to various lifestyles ranging from family outings to outdoor adventures. To ensure long-term reliability, GAC offers an 8-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty for the vehicle and an 8-year or 200,000-kilometer warranty for the battery, thus enhancing customer confidence in terms of durability and reducing ownership costs. The launch aims to deliver a premium configuration at an affordable price, positioning the AION V as a compelling option within the Nordic electric vehicle market.
Since unveiling its “European Market Plan” at the Paris Motor Show, GAC has identified Europe as a critical strategic market, promptly entering Poland, Portugal, and now Finland. By 2028, GAC aspires to achieve comprehensive coverage across Europe, backed by ongoing efforts in channel development, service system enhancement, and supply chain integration. With additional models and expanded service networks on the horizon, GAC is poised to provide a distinctive and valuable mobility experience for European users, playing a vital role in reshaping the global automotive industry.
