Vietnam Celebrates 7 Wonders Day, Honoring Global Natural Heritage

Vietnam Celebrates 7 Wonders Day

This year, New7Wonders is thrilled to announce the inaugural 7 Wonders Day in Vietnam, a landmark event recognizing the country's cultural and natural heritage, especially the renowned Ha Long Bay, one of the New7Wonders of Nature.

Taking place on July 7, the event will be held at two monumental locations: the stunning Ha Long Bay and the vibrant capital city of Ha Noi. Both venues will witness participation from numerous stakeholders, including Vingroup, Vietnam's leading private enterprise, and VTV, the national television channel, ensuring broad national engagement and media coverage.

At the heart of this celebration is a visually striking installation featuring a giant number 7 crafted from traditional boats that symbolize the beauty and local craftsmanship of Ha Long Bay. This imaginative display serves as a tribute to the enduring connection between the Vietnamese people and this natural wonder recognized globally.

Jean-Paul de la Fuente, Director of New7Wonders, will actively participate in the festivities in both Ha Long Bay and Ha Noi, underscoring the organization's long-standing relationship with Vietnam. This event aligns with the mission of New7Wonders, which aims to enhance global appreciation for such incredible sites and their contributions to local economies.

According to Bernard Weber, the founder of New7Wonders, "7 Wonders Day is not just a day for admiration but an opportunity for people worldwide to celebrate places that unite humanity through their beauty, history, and culture. Recognition of a wonder goes beyond mere honor; it's an invitation to celebrate and ensure that future generations continue to benefit from their extraordinary value."

The director further emphasizes, "Around the world, we've seen how the Wonder Effect inspires communities, builds national identity, and creates sustainable socioeconomic opportunities. Ha Long Bay exemplifies how global recognition can bring lasting benefits to local populations while showcasing Vietnam on the world stage. We are honored to celebrate this Official 7 Wonders Day alongside our partners and the Vietnamese people."

7 Wonders Day is celebrated globally every year since its inception in 2017 on July 7, dedicated to honoring extraordinary wonders of the world and encouraging people worldwide to rediscover the value of their shared natural and cultural heritage.
New7Wonders stands as a global movement advocating for the recognition of remarkable sites, beginning with the selection of the New7Wonders of the World and the New7Wonders of Nature, along with thematic and national campaigns, including the latest initiative focused on the 7 Wonders of Future Cities.

By engaging hundreds of millions worldwide, New7Wonders demonstrates how global recognition can translate into tangible social, cultural, and economic benefits for nations and communities.

This year marks not only a celebration of what makes Ha Long Bay a treasure but also a chance for Vietnam to shine on the international platform, further inspiring local pride and global curiosity about its breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural tapestry.
