KDDI Introduces a New Game Character at GINZA 456

KDDI Corporation is excited to announce the launch of a new game character, the “Climate Change and Food Scarcity Creature,” at its experiential branding facility, GINZA 456. This character is now part of the ongoing event titled “PLAY! FUTURABLE: Change Your Future through Gaming,” where visitors can engage with innovative game content centered around pressing social issues.

Collaboration with University Students

This new addition was collaboratively devised alongside 14 undergraduate and graduate students during the “FUTURABLE LABO: Workshop for Changing the Future.” After a series of brainstorming sessions, the character emerged from a voting process that included social media feedback as well as votes from visitors at GINZA 456. Aki Tonton, an education-focused influencer with over one million followers, has joined this initiative as an ambassador, helping to elevate public interest and engagement with the newly introduced character.

The Climate Change and Food Scarcity Creature embodies the various perspectives of the workshop participants, who each highlighted social issues that future generations should address. This character’s design was finalized by Zennyan, a pixel artist known for his unique and engaging character designs, ensuring it aligns with the overall aesthetics of the gaming environment at GINZA 456.

Game Experience

In the expansive backdrop of the venue, visitors can immerse themselves in the dynamism of “Futurable Hunt.” This engaging game uses projection mapping to create a powerful hunting experience that encourages players to envision their ideal future city, free of social issues. The game also allows participants to create a personalized name for their future city while learning about social concerns in an entertaining way.

In addition to the new creature, the game has also upgraded with the addition of the 'Final Boss Creature: Ultimate Form,' creating an all-rounded experience.
