Texas Logistic & Fulfillment Takes Over Amazon's Facility in Sugar Land, Texas
In a significant transformation for the logistics sector in Sugar Land, Texas, the local government has announced the arrival of Texas Logistic & Fulfillment (TLF) at what was formerly an Amazon distribution center. Located at 12900 W Airport Blvd, this expansive 300,000 square-foot facility is poised to become one of the most notable HVAC-enabled third-party logistics (3PL) hubs in the Greater Houston area.
Omri Shafran, the CEO of Texas Logistic & Fulfillment, has emphasized the importance of this transition, claiming it will alleviate major service bottlenecks and successfully cater to the growing demand for climate-controlled logistics. This is especially vital for handling electronics and temperature-sensitive goods arriving from the nearby Port of Houston. Additionally, TLF aims to streamline operations to accommodate the increasing volume of lithium battery containers that have been flowing into Texas, especially as consumer electronics continue to increase in popularity.
Dimitri Menin, President of TLF, reported that nearly 100,000 square feet of the facility will be designated as bonded space. This move is geared towards providing optimal flexibility for importers and exporters within the bonded warehouse market, which is essential for businesses dealing with international shipments.
The year 2025 marks a pivotal year for Texas Logistic & Fulfillment, as it strives to foster inclusive economic growth within the community. In line with this mission, TLF has revealed a new partnership with Joby Kottoor, the Procurement Manager at Richmond State Supported Living Center (RSSLC), part of the Health and Specialty Care System operated by HHSC. This collaboration aims to empower Texans with disabilities by enabling them to actively participate in the fast-evolving e-commerce logistics industry via dedicated kitting and fulfillment initiatives.
Texas Logistic & Fulfillment does not operate in isolation; it maintains strong relationships with industry giants, including Best Buy, CVS, Academy Sports + Outdoors, Costco, and an array of Fortune 500 companies. These partnerships underline TLF's position as one of the fastest-growing 3PL providers in Texas, having achieved an impressive annual growth rate of over 50%.
The strategic move to take over the former Amazon facility allows Texas Logistic & Fulfillment to enhance its service offerings while contributing to local economic growth. As the logistics landscape continues to evolve, Sugar Land can expect to see a flurry of activity in the coming months as TLF settles in and ramps up its operations. With their commitment to quality and innovative logistics solutions, TLF appears set to redefine the standards for the logistics industry in the region. As businesses and consumers alike adapt to new expectations in delivery and fulfillment, the arrival of Texas Logistic & Fulfillment could not come at a more opportune time for Sugar Land's economy.
