Penguin Party 2025: Chiharu Sakazaki's Final Exhibition of the Year

Penguin Party 2025 at ARTSPACE SKY GALLERY in Ariake, Tokyo. Running until December 21, this exhibition promises to delight audiences with a compilation of prints and merchandise that celebrate the charm and whimsy of her creations.
Key Features of the Exhibition
One of the highlights of this year’s event is the “3rd Anniversary Commemorative Goods.” Attendees can look forward to some exclusive items inspired by the gallery itself. Notably, the beautiful
Sky Blue Penguin of SKYCAFE and the vibrant
Rainbow Apron Penguin, perfect for adding a splash of color to any collection, are available as part of this special merchandise line.
In addition to these items, the exhibition features the
Local Series of prints, showcasing unique depictions of penguins that embrace various regional cultures across Japan. Visitors will encounter delightful prints such as penguins joyfully wrestling with rice balls in
Niigata, a penguin donning the attire of a
takoyaki vendor from Osaka, and even a representation of a soccer player labeled
Penguinyo from Urawa, known as a town filled with soccer spirit!

Special Event Days
Additionally, on December 20th and 21st, the first 100 visitors each day will receive a commemorative sticker to mark their visit. It’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in a space filled with warmth and happiness, accompanied by the endearing penguins that have captured the hearts of many.

Meet the Artist
As a cherry on top, a signing event with Chiharu Sakazaki herself will take place on
December 21st from 2 PM to 4 PM. The first 100 people who purchase artworks starting from December 14th will receive a
Sign Event Pass, allowing them to have their pieces signed (one per person). As a reminder, personal items cannot be signed, and photos are not permitted during the event.
About Chiharu Sakazaki
Chiharu Sakazaki, born in 1967 in Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture, graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts in 1991. Since 1998, she has thrived as a freelance illustrator and picture book author, creating iconic characters like the Suica Penguin and Chiba-kun, and has won notable awards, including the
Ichikawa City Cultural Arts Encouragement Award in 2011.
