Alphaus Achieves Recognition as a FinOps Certified Training Provider
Alphaus Inc. has recently been granted the prestigious title of
FinOps Certified Training Provider by the FinOps Foundation. This achievement marks a significant milestone for the company, as it becomes the first organization based in Japan and the Asia-Pacific region to obtain such certification. FinOps, which refers to the financial operations tied to public cloud spending, aims to enhance accountability concerning cloud costs, promoting a collaborative culture between engineering and non-engineering departments.
The Role of FinOps in Cloud Financial Management
FinOps serves as a framework for organizations looking to improve their cloud spending oversight and accountability. This practice has been gaining traction primarily in Western markets, where expenditure on public cloud services like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud is substantial.
The
FinOps Foundation, a non-profit entity under the Linux Foundation, boasts a community of over 25,000 companies and more than 85,000 FinOps practitioners. Since joining the FinOps Foundation last May, Alphaus has also been an active member of the Japan chapter which was established in November.
Certification as a FinOps Training Provider
The FinOps Certified Training Provider status is awarded to organizations within the FinOps Foundation that have demonstrated the ability to conduct and provide official training courses necessary for obtaining the
FinOps Certified Practitioner certificate. Alphaus has two certified training instructors capable of delivering these courses as of September 2025, further enhancing its educational offerings in this domain.
In addition to training, Alphaus has a wealth of qualified personnel holding the
FinOps Certified Professional and
FinOps Certified Practitioner certifications. With 33 practitioners and three professionals, the company positions itself as a leader in the domestic cloud infrastructure cost management space.
Launched in 2018, Alphaus provides cloud infrastructure cost management tools under the name
Ripple, managing over 5% of the domestic revenues generated by AWS, based on estimates from Fujikimera Research Institute.
Fostering FinOps Talent and Consulting Services
The commitment from Alphaus extends beyond the tools offered. By providing training and consulting services, the company facilitates the cultivation of FinOps talent within organizations. This approach not only aids understanding but also supports a range of organizations—regardless of industry or size—seeking to embrace FinOps practices in light of the growing trend towards public cloud and associated technologies across the Japan and APAC regions.
Alphaus continues to advocate for improved cloud management practices, empowering businesses to realize the full potential of their cloud investments and navigate the intricacies of cloud spending effectively.
