Supporting Small Businesses in Tokyo: Up to 10 Million Yen Grants

Starting April 15, a new grant program aimed at enhancing the management capabilities of small businesses in Tokyo has been announced. Operated by Navit Co., Ltd, the program, named "Creative Management Enhancement Challenge Promotion Project," provides financial assistance to various small enterprises engaging in innovative efforts. With grants available up to 10 million yen, this initiative offers much-needed support for businesses looking to improve their management practices amid tough economic conditions.

Overview of the Grant Programs

The program offers three distinct courses supported by grants:

1. Business Improvement Course
- Eligibility: Small businesses in Tokyo that meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Declined operating profits in the most recent financial period compared to the previous one.
- Reported losses in the most recent financial period.
- Grant Limit: Up to 600,000 yen
- Reimbursement Rate: Up to two-thirds of eligible costs
- Eligible Expenses: Costs related to a management improvement plan designed to deepen and advance existing operations.
- Eligibility Duration: One year from the decision of grant allocation.

2. Wage Increase Focus Course
- Eligibility: Small businesses that meet the above criteria and create wage increase plans.
- Grant Limit: Up to 600,000 yen
- Reimbursement Rate: Up to three-quarters for larger firms, four-fifths for small firms. If the wage increase plan is not achieved, reimbursement will revert to two-thirds.
- Eligible Expenses: Similar to the business improvement course.
- Eligibility Duration: One year from the decision of grant allocation.

3. New Market Entrance Course
- Eligibility: Small businesses in Tokyo that either reported decreased operating profits or losses.
- Grant Limit: Up to 1 million yen
- Reimbursement Rate: Up to two-thirds, but can go up to three-quarters if a wage increase plan is in place, and up to four-fifths for small businesses.
- Eligible Expenses: Costs associated with plans to enter new markets or fields.
- Eligibility Duration: One year from the decision of grant allocation.
