LONGi's Hi-MO X10 Power Station Launches in Shanghai with Impressive Performance Gains

The Hi-MO X10 Power Station Shines in Shanghai

In a remarkable move towards sustainable energy solutions, LONGi Solar has successfully connected its Hi-MO X10 power station to the grid in Shanghai. Located atop the Semir Apparel Co., Ltd. building in the Minhang District, this project represents a significant milestone, being the first of its kind in the city and one of the first distributed power stations in China utilizing the advanced Hi-MO X10 module.

Project Overview

The rooftop solar power station spans an area equivalent to around three standard football fields and features a total installed capacity of 2.11 MW. With an estimated annual power generation potential of approximately 2.5 million kWh, the project operates under a model that allows for the self-consumption of generated energy while feeding any surplus back into the grid. Impressively, the self-consumption ratio stands at 85%, underscoring the project's efficiency in meeting energy demands for the headquarters, cold-chain logistics, and live-streaming activities.

The Hi-MO X10 module, launched in October 2024, leverages the high-performance HPBC 2.0 cell technology, which delivers industry-leading power generation capabilities. This advancement means that the maximum power output of the modules can reach up to 670W, surpassing the performance of conventional TOPCon modules by a notable margin. Furthermore, module efficiency can peak at 24.8%, optimizing the energy potential on limited rooftops and significantly boosting revenues for businesses that install them.

Enhanced Efficiency and Safety Features

One of the standout features of the Hi-MO X10 modules is their innovative bypass diode technology, which reduces power loss from shading and prevents localized overheating. This design ensures that the temperature of the modules is reduced by over 28% compared to traditional cells, promoting safe and stable operation, especially crucial for rooftop installations.

Performance Metrics

Data collected from February 13 to February 28 reveals that the power station is outperforming expectations. The project anticipated generating approximately 134,500 kWh in February; however, actual output was 134,500 kWh, averaging about 5,190 kWh daily, which is an impressive 8% higher than projections. This data suggests not only a successful deployment but also a promising future for similar solar initiatives across China and beyond.

Economic and Environmental Impact

The commissioning of the rooftop solar station is not just an achievement for LONGi and Semir Apparel; it sets a benchmark for the industry, showcasing the financial and ecological benefits that come with renewable energy adoption. As the world focuses on achieving sustainability, initiatives like this are critical in paving the way for future innovations.

As for the future, LONGi Solar plans to apply its high-quality products and solutions to build similar power stations for more businesses, particularly in the apparel and textile sectors. Such projects contribute to a more sustainable environment, demonstrating that integrating renewable technology into corporate strategies can yield considerable benefits for both the environment and the bottom line.

With its successful launch in Shanghai, the Hi-MO X10 power station stands as a testament to modern technological advancements in solar energy and the potential for significant contributions to energy sustainability in urban areas.
