Celebrate Financial Literacy Month
As we navigate a world filled with economic uncertainty, April is a poignant time to elevate our understanding of financial literacy. The Council for Economic Education (CEE) and its network of affiliates are stepping up to offer an extensive range of events and resources designed specifically for teachers, students, and the general public in honor of National Financial Literacy Month.
For Teachers: Personal Finance Bootcamp
On April 5, teachers are invited to participate in a free, virtual
Personal Finance Bootcamp from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET. This expert-led training program will cover crucial personal finance subjects such as earning income, budgeting, and saving. Teachers will gain invaluable resources, lesson plans, and strategies to enhance their classroom instruction, making financial literacy an engaging subject for their students.
Empowering Students with Advocacy Toolkits
CEE places a strong emphasis on student empowerment, providing
advocacy toolkits that encourage students to voice their support for personal finance education in schools. These toolkits are designed to help students effectively communicate their needs and ensure that personal finance becomes an integral part of their curricula, equipping them with essential life skills.
Expanding Knowledge with Book and Podcast Recommendations
In tandem with these events, CEE’s
Invest in Girls program will feature
weekly book and podcast recommendations shared on their Instagram. This initiative curates selections that not only showcase insights from seasoned professionals but also highlight contributions from students themselves. Such recommendations aim to promote personal finance knowledge beyond the confines of traditional classroom settings.
A Night to Remember: The 2025 Diamond Gala
As part of the celebrations, CEE will host its annual
2025 Diamond Gala on April 29 in New York City. This prestigious event aims to raise funds that will empower K-12 students, providing them with the essential tools and knowledge they need to navigate economics and personal finance. The gala honors influential leaders in the field of economic and financial education and highlights exceptional New York educators who implement innovative approaches in teaching economic concepts.
