Kobe Suma Sea World Celebrates Two-Year Anniversary

Kobe Suma Sea World, operated by Granvista Hotel & Resort, marks its second anniversary on June 1, 2026. With a unique focus on orca exhibitions, it has become a beloved destination for many since its opening. To commemorate this occasion, the aquarium is launching a celebratory initiative titled "Creating Smiles Together for the 2nd Anniversary." This event is designed to engage visitors with countdown activities, special events, and the sale of exclusive merchandise.

Countdown Plan and Anniversary Message Panel

From May 8 to June 30, 2026, the aquarium will set up a "2nd Anniversary Message Panel" where visitors can share their encouraging messages. These messages will be displayed as part of the panel, allowing everyone to contribute to the celebration.

A special event on the anniversary date, June 1, will further enhance the festivities, promising a day filled with fun and surprises for attendees. Guests are encouraged to participate in these countdown activities to share in the joy of this milestone.

Exclusive Film Screening for Club SUMASEA Members

In addition, Club SUMASEA newsletter subscribers will have access to a special screening titled "Shiretoko Orcas Special Viewing Event." This event features exclusive footage about orcas from the Shiretoko region, along with a special commentary from Kazutoshi Arai, the Head of Animal Care, who will share insights on the production of the orca hall and the fascinating attributes of these marine creatures.

This special screening is scheduled for May 31 and June 1, 2026, at the Orca Stadium. Admission is free, but attendees will need to pay the general entrance fee to the aquarium. A limited number of seats (50 guests per day) will be available for reservation, and admission will be determined by a lottery if demand exceeds capacity.

To celebrate this milestone, a "2nd Anniversary Nikkori Smile Bag" filled with five uniquely designed items will be offered for pre-sale to Club SUMASEA members from May 8 to May 15, 2026. This premium bag costs 10,000 yen (tax inclusive) and includes items such as a bucket hat and a cooling bag.

Additionally, the adjacent Kobe Suma Sea World Hotel provides special accommodation plans for the anniversary. Guests can enjoy special rooms equipped with limited edition goods and unique culinary experiences.
