According to data collected during the 2024–25 academic year, teachers utilizing this advanced feature are able to provide feedback on student assignments a staggering 28% faster than their counterparts who do not employ this technology. This acceleration translates to an average reduction of nearly nine hours in the assignment turnaround time, allowing educators to deliver timely and constructive comments while student work remains fresh.

The Impact of AI-Powered Feedback

Launched for the Back to School season in 2024, the AI feedback capability reflects Imagine Learning's commitment to creating educational tools that are not just smart but also deeply informed by curriculum and pedagogy. By adopting a Curriculum-Informed AI™ philosophy, the company ensures that its AI offers guidance based on scholarly research and aligns closely with high-quality instructional materials, ultimately supporting teachers rather than replacing them.

Since the introduction of this tool, it has been utilized over 57,000 times across 272 schools and 185 districts, with the most prominent use in subjects such as English language arts, social studies, science, and math. Notably, around 75% of all short-writing assignments in Imagine EdgeEX benefit from AI feedback, illustrating its rapid acceptance and reliance by educators during peak grading periods in August, January, and June.

The efficacy of this system is underscored by the statistics: teachers who leverage AI-powered feedback complete assignments in an average of just 23 hours. This is a significant decrease from the 32 hours taken by those who do not use the AI tool. Furthermore, 1 in 8 assignments can see feedback returned in an impressive one-hour timeframe. This swift feedback cycle not only saves teachers invaluable time but also enhances the likelihood of improved student learning outcomes.

Enhancing the Quality of Feedback

Teachers utilizing the AI feature are reporting richer, more multi-faceted feedback for their students. A significant number, about 58% in spring 2025, have integrated AI suggestions into their responses, with 61% of these educators incorporating multiple AI-generated remarks into their feedback. Some teachers have even utilized as many as eight different AI suggestions in a single response. This collaborative approach transforms the tool into a professional thought partner that aids educators in crafting insightful feedback while maintaining full control over the content shared with students.
