A New Chapter for KidZania: Parent-Child Day
In a groundbreaking move for the Japanese branch of KidZania, KCJ Group has announced a special event called 'Welcome!園児DAY' slated for June 2026. This marks the first occasion where children and their parents can partake in job experiences together, breaking away from traditional formats and fostering shared memories. The event aims to provide a unique hands-on experience for preschoolers (ages 3 to under 12) and their guardians, emphasizing the importance of parental involvement in children's formative experiences.
Creating Meaningful Experiences
KCJ Group is committed to nurturing environments where children can express themselves and engage in real-life job scenarios. This initiative was partly inspired by feedback from parents who expressed a desire to better understand their children's experiences within the park. Many parents have shared their hopes of witnessing their children's adventures firsthand and learning how to participate in their growth effectively.
The 'Welcome!園児DAY' event aims to address these desires, allowing parents to share the excitement of their children's 'KidZania debut' while simultaneously observing and participating in their activities. With this approach, KCJ Group seeks to not only enhance the experiences offered at the park but also create an unmatchable bond between parents and children as they discover new skills together.
Event Details
The special days will take place at both KidZania Tokyo and KidZania Koshien. Below are the specifics:
- KidZania Tokyo: June 9 (Tuesday) and June 29 (Monday) from 4 PM to 8 PM
- KidZania Koshien: June 4 (Thursday) and June 18 (Thursday) from 4 PM to 8 PM
- KidZania Tokyo, Koto City, Tokyo
- KidZania Koshien, Nishinomiya City, Hyogo
Pricing
The pricing is structured to support participation. Here are the costs:
- - KidZania Tokyo: Kids: 3,200 yen, Adults: 2,500 yen
- - KidZania Koshien: Kids: 3,000 yen, Adults: 2,400 yen
This pricing is notably lower than usual to encourage first-time visits and make the experience accessible to families.
Activities to Expect
During the 'Welcome!園児DAY', parents and children will engage in activities as a team, strengthening their connections through cooperative tasks. Each child will be allowed to bring one adult to participate in activities. Upon completion, both children and adults will receive mementos of their experiences (with some exceptions).
However, it's essential to note that certain regulations will be in place:
- - Adults will not receive wages in the form of 'Kidz' currency.
- - Access to specific areas of the park may be limited based on the activity.
- - Photography and videography inside certain pavilions is restricted, although shooting from outside these areas remains permissible.
Looking Ahead
In October 2026, KidZania will celebrate its 20th anniversary in Japan. KCJ Group has set ambitious goals, aiming to continue providing exceptional educational and entertainment experiences for children. By focusing on enhancing value for all guests, including accompanying adults, they are laying the groundwork for a richer, more engaging future.
