Jack and Jill of America Inc. to Host 2025 Legislative Summit
In a significant event celebrating youth leadership, Jack and Jill of America, Inc. is preparing for its
10th biennial On the Hill Legislative Teen Summit, scheduled for
September 19-22, 2025. Taking place in the heart of Washington, D.C., this summit aims to empower nearly
800 adolescents from across the nation. Under the theme
Amplifying Our Voices, participants are set to engage in advocacy, civic action, and leadership development activities that resonate with the pressing issues faced by their communities.
Darlene Whittington, the national president of Jack and Jill of America, stated,
“When our children step into the Capitol, they do not come as visitors; they arrive as visionaries. We take pride in amplifying their voices because we understand that today’s advocates are the lawmakers, judges, and presidents of tomorrow. They are not leaders of someday; they are leading right now.” This profound statement sets the tone for a summit focused on instilling confidence and leadership in today’s youth, preparing them to be effective agents of change.
Summit Features and Activities
The 2025 summit promises a rich agenda filled with workshops, forums, and cultural events that emphasize civic engagement and community impact. Noteworthy highlights include the
Black Family State Forum, the
Teen Moguls JNJ Tank showcasing youth entrepreneurship, and the reception of
Legacy Amplified.
A critical moment will be the culminating event,
Jack and Jill Takes the Hill, where participants will meet with their respective legislators to advocate for significant issues impacting their communities. This active engagement aims to inspire participants to understand and influence the legislative processes that affect their lives.
As Jack and Jill of America prepares to welcome these passionate young leaders, the 2025 summit stands as both a celebration of youth potential and a urgent call to action. It creates a platform for young black voices to be heard, honor the legacy of those who came before them, and shape the future they envision. These adolescents will not only amplify their voices but also spearhead a movement rooted in purpose, resilience, and an unwavering pursuit of justice.
