Nokomis Energy Appoints Joe Stofega as New President to Lead Growth

Nokomis Energy Welcomes Joe Stofega as President

Nokomis Energy, a foremost developer of distributed solar projects based in Minneapolis, has officially announced the appointment of Joe Stofega as its new President. Joe's ascension follows the successful tenure of Brendan Dillon, who led the company for four years, directing it towards substantial growth and sustainability in the renewable energy sector.

During Dillon's leadership, Nokomis Energy achieved remarkable milestones, completing over 50 distributed solar projects that exceed 100 megawatts in total capacity. This has been largely attributed to the successful execution of projects within the Xcel Energy Community Solar Garden Program, recognized nationwide as a benchmark of excellence in community solar initiatives.

Stofega, who previously served as the Vice President of Business Development at Nokomis Energy, has been instrumental in the company's growth. Over the past six years, he has played a vital role in various business development efforts, also contributing to the deployment of over 300 megawatts of distributed energy projects since he began his career in renewable energy in 2010. Before joining Nokomis, he held significant leadership positions at EnterSolar (now PowerFlex), a prominent player in the commercial and industrial solar development industry.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Stofega stated, "It's an honor to step into the role of President and continue building on the strong foundation Brendan helped establish. Nokomis Energy has developed an outstanding portfolio of distributed solar projects, and I'm excited to lead the company as we continue delivering clean energy and long-term value to communities and project partners across Minnesota."

Dillon commented on his departure, saying, "It's been an honor to serve as President and to have helped build the company to this point. I'm proud of what we've accomplished together, and most importantly the team we've built that will take this forward. I'm excited to see Joe lead the next chapter for Nokomis Energy."

Nokomis Energy is dedicated to developing distributed solar projects that are typically offered to long-term owners and operators individually or as curated portfolios. Their current portfolio includes a wealth of late-stage projects concentrated in Minnesota, while also actively seeking new long-term ownership opportunities.

Based in Minneapolis, Nokomis Energy employs a systematic approach to manage its project development processes. This involves identifying risks early and completing disciplined execution, ensuring well-structured solar projects that establish lasting relationships with utilities, landowners, and project owners alike. To date, they have successfully developed over 100 megawatts of solar capacity and are expanding operations, not just within Minnesota but stretching into other markets across Iowa, Wisconsin, and beyond.

In a landscape rising toward renewable energy solutions, Stofega's leadership is expected to steer Nokomis Energy to new heights as it builds upon its existing strengths while committing to providing sustainable energy solutions that benefit local communities and industries. As he takes the helm, the focus remains on enhancing collaborative partnerships and contributing to the overall growth of renewable energy initiatives across the region.

With a talented team and a commitment to success, Nokomis Energy eyes a bright future in the expanding arena of renewable energy, driven by the vision and leadership of its newly appointed President, Joe Stofega.
