MyDearest Secures Expansion Funding
MyDearest, an innovative startup specializing in virtual reality (VR) games centered around original intellectual properties (IP), recently announced a successful expansion of its Series C funding round. This initiative raised approximately 170 million yen in additional capital, bringing the total accumulated funding in the Series C round to about 1.7 billion yen. Notably, the funding round was backed by valuable investors such as Chugin Infinity Fund No. 3 and Hankyu Hanshin Innovation Partners.
Purpose of the Funding
MyDearest's funding objectives revolve around two key areas that underline its commitment to growth and innovation.
1. Strengthening IP Development for North American Alpha Generation
A significant part of the new funding will focus on enhancing the company’s reach to North America's Alpha Generation, typically defined as individuals in their early to mid-teens. Based on recent statistics, a substantial portion of MyDearest’s user base, approximately 70%, is comprised of American users. The latest title from bazooka studio has surpassed a remarkable milestone of 1 million active users globally. By leveraging this funding, MyDearest aims to bolster its content pipeline, targeting the North American market with the ambition to launch over ten new titles by the end of 2025.
2. Expanding VR/MR Solutions and Content Creation for Businesses
Beyond entertainment, MyDearest is also dedicated to providing VR (Virtual Reality) and MR (Mixed Reality) solutions and content production for businesses and local governments. Their dedicated division, “VR Asobi,” aims to expand through the creation and deployment of VR content and the construction of VRChat worlds. To facilitate this growth, the company plans to hire new talent, particularly in roles related to engineering and art direction, thereby reinforcing its development framework.

In alignment with its expansion plans, MyDearest will intensify its recruitment efforts. The company welcomes applications from creative individuals eager to showcase their talent to the world, as well as those interested in producing XR content for businesses.
