Three New Stations Enhance Digital Out-of-Home Advertising in Japan
Enhanced Digital Advertising in Japan
In a significant development for the digital out-of-home (OOH) advertising landscape, JR West Japan Communications and LIVE BOARD have announced the integration of three new stations into their network. These stations include Kyoto’s North Wall at the station's bridge entrance, the J-AD Vision WEST at Osaka Station's west exit, and the Yokaroumon! 9-screen set at Hakata Station in Fukuoka. Starting from May 11, 2026, these stations will be connected to the LIVE BOARD marketplace, enabling a new level of advertising reach.
The Importance of Effective Digital Advertising
With traditional advertising methods often falling short in terms of engagement, the demand for more effective digital platforms has surged. This collaboration between JR West Japan Communications and LIVE BOARD aims to revolutionize how advertisements are delivered. Using NTT DOCOMO's location data and analytical technologies, advertisements will not only be sold based on predetermined periods and frequencies but will also leverage impressions that estimate how many people have actually viewed the ads (VAC - Visibility Adjusted Contact).
The connection of these stations will enhance the consistency and strength of the advertising network across three major cities in western Japan—Kyoto, Osaka, and Hakata. This new network will facilitate diverse advertising opportunities targeting both tourists and business professionals moving through these pivotal transit routes.
