Nautilus Data Technologies Launches Innovative EcoCore Products for AI-Ready Cooling Solutions

Nautilus Data Technologies Unveils Expanded EcoCore CDU Product Line

Nautilus Data Technologies, a prominent player in facility-scale liquid cooling, recently announced a significant enhancement to their EcoCore Cooling Distribution Unit (CDU) product line. This expansion comes at a critical time, as the demand for data center cooling solutions that can support advanced AI and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads is rapidly increasing.

Addressing Growing Cooling Needs

With global data centers expected to experience an upsurge in power requirements—up to 165% by 2030—due to the rising prevalence of AI applications, operators are now compelled to transition away from traditional air cooling systems. As they do, they need to avoid excessive costs and reduce their environmental impact. Nautilus stands out in this regard, having accumulated over 400,000 operational hours in one of the few fully liquid-cooled AI data centers worldwide, showcasing their capabilities in providing reliable solutions.

Introducing New CDUs

The enhanced EcoCore product line has introduced two new models: the EcoCore XCD and the EcoCore RCD, allowing data center operators to select from a comprehensive repertoire of AI-compatible cooling solutions. The entire CDU series now features:

1. EcoCore XCD: This new ultra-capacity CDU can handle up to 10MW of heat rejection per containerized module, designed with a patented degassing system to enhance its efficiency.

2. EcoCore FCD: The flagship model of the EcoCore range, this facility-wide CDU caters for up to 4MW of heat rejection per individual module, ensuring total capacity increases linearly as more units are added, which is essential for high-density cooling with N+ redundancy.

3. EcoCore RCD: A newly introduced in-row CDU, which provides localized cooling solutions, delivers up to 2.5MW per rack—perfect for setups where space is at a premium.

These tools represent a proactive approach to cooling infrastructure, focusing on efficiency while eliminating wasted space. The modular design is perfectly suited for both new builds and retrofit projects, aiding in the evolution of data center infrastructure.

Future-Proofing Cooling Solutions

Rob Pfleging, CEO of Nautilus, commented on the pressing requirement for advanced cooling systems, saying, “AI workloads are scaling far beyond what air cooling can handle. By expanding our CDU offerings, Nautilus is ensuring operators have the tools to deploy flexible, energy-efficient, and future-proof cooling infrastructure wherever and however they need it.”

The EcoCore family of CDUs integrates seamlessly with Nautilus's broader EcoCore Infrastructure, propelling AI readiness much faster than traditional methods allow.
