Located in Yangquan, Shanxi province, the Campaign Memorial Hall serves as a solemn reminder of this crucial historical event. During his latest visit on July 7, he toured Yangquan Valve Co., Ltd., engaging with employees and learning about advancements in industrial modernization and economic development. This province, traditionally reliant on natural resources, has been designated as a pilot region for energy reform in China. As of August 2024, Shanxi achieved an impressive 48% of its installed capacity in new and renewable energy, marking a significant increase in eco-friendly initiatives since 2019.

Furthermore, local governments have leveraged 'red tourism,' centered around revolutionary heritage, intertwining it with rural revitalization strategies. Currently, there are 35 themed tourist routes connecting over 3,400 heritage sites throughout Shanxi.

The cultural revival is showing promising results. In 2024, Shanxi welcomed 318 million domestic tourists, a remarkable growth of 13.9% from the previous year, with tourism revenues reaching 276.15 billion yuan (approximately 38.5 billion USD), up 25.9% from the last year. This approach of intertwining historical memory with quality development fosters a dual transformation, both spiritual and structural, igniting a new impetus for modernization in Shanxi province.
