Titus Low Carbon Ventures Sets the Stage for Sustainable Energy in Texas Data Centers



Titus Low Carbon Ventures, in collaboration with AB Energy USA, LLC, has taken a significant step towards sustainable energy solutions by securing a supply agreement for 673 megawatts of generation capacity. This initiative aims to support the pioneering thermal program for data centers in Texas and represents a vital component of the company's multi-gigawatt power park projects.

Scheduled for a phased rollout, the first 400 megawatts of generation are expected to be operational by Q4 2027, with the remaining capacity coming online by mid-2028. Such rapid deployment is critical as demand for data processing and digital services escalates, necessitating prompt and reliable energy sources.

The innovative power-park model proposed by Titus involves co-locating behind-the-meter thermal generation alongside utility-scale solar, wind, and battery storage. This unique configuration not only heightens reliability but also allows for improved cost control—a crucial aspect for businesses in high-performance computing and artificial intelligence sectors. By utilizing this multitechnological approach, Titus aims to reduce power costs by more than 70% compared to conventional grid-connected alternatives.

Diverse Power Solutions with Advanced Technology


Under the new agreement, AB Energy will install up to 202 Ecomax 33 units, employing Jenbacher J620 engines, which are recognized for their rapid installation and parallel commissioning capabilities. This flexibility allows for staged energization of the campus, set to start from mid-2027, accommodating the growing energy demands of data centers effectively.

Each modular block is designed for efficient energy production, featuring low emissions systems that comply with stringent air quality standards. They can operate in island-mode, working seamlessly with Titus' renewable solar and wind installations, ensuring a resilient power solution amidst evolving regulatory landscapes in Texas.
