StellaON Receives TÜV SÜD Certification for High-Voltage Networks in Germany
StellaON Achieves TÜV SÜD Certification
In a significant step for energy management, SINEXCEL's StellaON systems have recently been awarded TÜV SÜD certification for medium, high, and extra-high voltage networks across Germany. This certification not only underscores the reliability of the StellaON energy conversion systems, specifically the 1250K/1575K models but also ensures compliance with stringent German standards VDE-AR-N 4110, 4120, and 4130.
The TÜV SÜD certification process involved a meticulous evaluation of the systems, testing their response during network faults, active and reactive power control, and their frequency response. This certification is pivotal for the StellaON systems, confirming their adaptability for large-scale battery storage projects within different network levels. The robust systems demonstrate an impressive operational capacity, particularly for setups connected to electrical grids ranging from distribution lines to transmission systems.
The Importance of Certification
The TÜV SÜD certification encompasses three important standards, which are crucial for plants using storage technology. Notably, VDE-AR-N 4130 pertains to connections on networks operating at 220 kV and above, addressing requirements related to the overall stability of electrical systems. By meeting these standards, StellaON ensures reliable performance that can uphold power levels amid varying temperature conditions, achieving 98.5% efficiency at full load even in environments reaching up to 55°C.
Furthermore, the systems have a remarkable ability to deliver 1.5 times their rated capacity for up to 60 seconds, demonstrating their robustness and reliability where sudden demands occur.
Technical Features and Advantages
StellaON systems utilize variable-speed cooling mechanisms that keep noise levels to just 65 dB, a crucial feature for installations sensitive to acoustic impact. This certification aids developers and EPC contractors in choosing appropriate energy conversion systems and drafting technical specifications necessary for the respective connection voltage. It empowers them by providing a strong foundation for plant certification and connection approval, while allowing project-specific design and network requirements to be evaluated independently at the plant level.
In addition to the successful TÜV SÜD validation, StellaON has seen extensive certification across Europe, holding the necessary certifications in not only Germany but also Poland, Romania, and more. Currently, certifications are underway for markets such as the United States, Spain, Austria, and Chile, expected to conclude by late 2026.
As of now, SINEXCEL has initiated over 15 projects across Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Africa that range from system integration to on-site commissioning, with orders exceeding 500 MW in the first half of 2026 alone. The energy conversion systems have also been validated under extreme conditions in regions like Vietnam and Myanmar, showcasing their versatility in both tropical climates and isolated microgrid applications.
