VNET Group Unveils 2024 Environmental, Social and Governance Report



On April 28, 2025, VNET Group, Inc. Key Highlights from the 2024 ESG Report



1. Renewable Energy Utilization: VNET sources 360,880 MWh of energy from renewable resources, demonstrating a remarkable fivefold increase compared to the previous year, now representing 18% of their overall energy consumption.

2. Reduction in Greenhouse Gas Emissions: The company achieved a 2% decrease in total greenhouse gas emissions (scope 1 and 2) and a significant 9% reduction in emission intensity year-over-year, showcasing their commitment to environmental responsibility.

3. Power Usage Effectiveness: VNET reported an average Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.27 across its data centers, reflecting stable operations in 2024 and efficient energy usage.

4. Innovative Projects: The integrated source-grid-load-storage initiative at VNET’s Ulanqab IDC Campus received approval in October 2024. This project includes 200MW wind power generation, 100MW of solar energy, and a 45MW energy storage facility, reinforcing the company’s renewable energy strategy.

5. Certifications: VNET obtained key international certifications, including the ISO/IEC 20000 for Information Technology Service Management and ISO/IEC 27001 for Information Security Management across all business lines, highlighting their commitment to quality and security.

6. Employee Well-Being and Diversity: The company achieved full coverage for anti-corruption training, which includes all directors and employees, along with increasing female representation in management roles to 33%.

7. Customer Satisfaction: VNET celebrated an impressive nationwide customer satisfaction rate of 99.63%, reflecting their dedication to delivering high-quality services.

8. Global Recognition: VNET has been acknowledged by top-tier ESG rating agencies, achieving an 'A' rating from MSCI for three consecutive years, reflecting their leading position in China’s Internet Service Infrastructure sector. Additionally, they recorded their highest score yet in the SP Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment, placing them among the top 7% of the global IT Services industry.
