Jiangxi International Friendship Cities Children's Art Exhibition

On December 24, 2025, Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi Province in China, hosted the Jiangxi International Friendship Cities Children's Art Exhibition. The event, themed "Harmony Between Humanity and Nature — The Beautiful World Through My Eyes," brought together 60 vibrant and imaginative paintings from children across Jiangxi and its international friendship cities.

This exhibition highlighted the unique perspectives of young artists, showcasing their interpretation of the harmonious coexistence between humans and nature through their innocent brushstrokes. It served not only as a platform for artistic expression but also emphasized the significance of ecological awareness, which is vital for sustainable development.

The feedback from attendees has been overwhelmingly positive. Massimo Maria Bosisio, an art critic from Italy, expressed how the children's artwork stirred nostalgia for his own childhood experiences with nature. He emphasized that seeing nature through the eyes of children is not just refreshing; it serves as a reminder of the need to reverence and protect the environment. He stated, “Using art as a medium to symbolize how humanity should revere nature is of vital importance.”

In a similar vein, Takudzwa Kahwiti Duncan from Zimbabwe reflected on the deeper message conveyed in the artworks, remarking, “Just as what they said, when we take care of nature, nature also takes care of us.” This captures the core ethos of the exhibition and the essential relationship between humanity and the natural world.

The inception of this exhibition has attracted an impressive number of submissions from various countries and regions, totaling hundreds of entries. Following a rigorous selection process, the chosen pieces demonstrated vibrant colors and creative concepts, reflecting the rich tapestry of cultural backgrounds and children's imaginative views about the ecological environment.

By using painting as a medium for expression, the exhibition not only fosters cultural dialogue among children from different parts of the world but also translates a collective vision of sustainable development into a tangible experience. It signifies a step forward in recognizing and nurturing the talents of young artists, while also focusing on pressing global issues concerning nature and ecological balance.

This year’s event in Nanchang has become a melting pot of creativity and cultural exchange, inviting visitors to appreciate the innocence, creativity, and environmental consciousness of children worldwide. The artworks serve as poignant reminders of the simple yet profound ways children connect with their surroundings, advocating for a future where humanity coexists harmoniously with nature.
