A Gathering of Working Vehicles at Haneda Airport Garden

On August 23 and 24, 2025, Sumitomo Realty and Management Co., Ltd. hosted a special summer event titled "A Gathering of Working Vehicles" at the Haneda Airport Garden, located directly connected to the 3rd terminal of Haneda Airport in Ota City, Tokyo. This event was designed with a focus on providing an engaging and educational experience for families, featuring a wide range of activities aimed at all age groups.

Visitors were treated to an impressive display of vehicles unique to the airport environment, including emergency vehicles such as ambulances, fire trucks, and police cars. One of the many highlights of the event was the chance for children and adults alike to experience riding on a mini Shinkansen, the Doctor Yellow. Participants also had the opportunity to don uniforms from various services which added to the immersive experience.

In addition to this, attendees could participate in a traffic safety class conducted by JAF (Japan Automobile Federation) and enjoy a stamp rally featuring beloved characters such as Pipo-kun, Keikyun, Hanepyoon, and Nico. Many families enjoyed the chance to take memorable photos with these popular characters, enhancing the fun atmosphere of the event.

According to post-event surveys, families from Ota City and the neighboring Kanagawa, Chiba, and Saitama prefectures attended in large numbers. It was heartwarming to see many visitors also take the time to explore other facilities within the airport, including the observation deck at the 3rd terminal. Overall, the turnout exceeded expectations, though some activities did experience longer waiting times due to the high number of participants. Despite this, it was rewarding to know that we were able to create a memorable summer experience for so many guests.

This significant event was made possible through the collaboration of local government, transport providers, and various stakeholders. It served as an opportunity for not only airport users but also local residents and visitors from across the metropolitan area to rediscover the charm of Haneda Airport.
