Experience Disaster Preparedness at BOUSAI ACTION 2026!
On September 5, 2026, the event titled
BOUSAI ACTION 2026 will take place at Waterras in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, co-hosted by the Kanda Fire Station and the student organization "Bousai me". This event is designed to teach families about disaster preparedness through enjoyable activities. Participants can look forward to vehicle exhibitions, VR experiences, live music, and more—all centered around the motto of "play, learn, prepare"!
Importance of Disaster Preparedness
Japan has experienced numerous natural disasters, notably the earthquake with a magnitude of 7.1 that hit Kumamoto Prefecture on July 28, 2026, which led to severe damage. With these events reminding us of the importance of disaster preparedness, many people express their interest in learning but feel unsure of where to start.
BOUSAI ACTION 2026 aims not to treat disaster preparedness as something extraordinary but to present it as part of everyday life. By collaborating with the fire department, this year's event is set to be more practical and community-oriented.
Event Features
This marks the third year of the
BOUSAI ACTION initiative, building on successes from previous years, including the event in Shinjuku in 2025 that attracted around 200 participants. Unlike a typical festival, participants are encouraged not only to
know about disaster preparedness but also to
take action!
