Rivvor Unveils Game-Changing Valen™ Edge Series for AI Edge Computing
Rivvor Unveils Valen™ Edge Series: A New Era for AI Inference
On October 29, 2026, Rivvor, an innovative start-up specializing in wireless interconnect technologies, showcased a groundbreaking wireless AI inference system at the OCP Global Summit in San Jose. The revolutionary Valen™ Edge Series represents a significant leap forward in how AI computations can be conducted at the edge, where speed and efficiency are paramount. In a live demonstration, Rivvor revealed the Contactless Modular Compute System that operates entirely without cables, utilizing engineered mmWave wireless corridors to connect its components.
How It Works
The Valen™ Edge Series consists of modular blades equipped with AMD Ryzen processors and 128 GB of RAM each. These blades communicate with each other through advanced mmWave technology, achieving a remarkable throughput of 15 Gbps per link, with a stunning aggregate rack bandwidth exceeding 300 Gbps. The elimination of traditional cables and connectors not only streamlines the design but also provides a more efficient method for data transfer, resulting in drastically reduced latency—from 1,600 nanoseconds down to an impressive 250 nanoseconds.
A Solution to Existing Bottlenecks
According to Nazym Paltachev, the CEO and co-founder of Rivvor, one of the main challenges in AI system design has been the physical space occupied by cables and connectors. As AI technologies advance, the need for more efficient interconnect solutions has become increasingly urgent. Cables not only consume space but add significant complexity and points of failure to hardware architectures. Rivvor addresses these issues directly, allowing the system to be more agile and adaptable to changing workloads.
Scalable and Future-Ready
The design of the Valen™ Edge Series is fundamentally different—it is software-defined, meaning that the connection topology can be reconfigured in real-time to adapt to varying AI inference workloads. By installing additional mmWave corridors, Rivvor can increase system capacity without the physical constraints imposed by traditional cabling.
Looking forward, Rivvor plans to further enhance its technology with the development of sub-THz Bounded Electromagnetic Corridors (BEC). These will operate in the 100 to 500 GHz range and are expected to scale beyond 400 Gbps per link. This will provide an even more powerful framework for data centers as they evolve to handle increasingly complex and voluminous data tasks.
Versatile Applications
The implications of Rivvor's technology extend far beyond AI data centers. The contactless nature of the Valen™ Edge Series makes it remarkably suitable for various applications, such as physical AI and robotic systems. In scenarios where space, weight, or reliability are limitations—like those encountered in space missions—the absence of cables dramatically reduces the potential for mechanical failure. The design minimizes connector wear and allows for straightforward module replacement, which can even be executed by robots in critical environments.
Upcoming Demonstration
In an effort to showcase the capabilities of the Valen™ Edge Series, Rivvor invites interested parties to their demo event on November 12, 2026, at the TBS Design Gallery in Santa Clara. Attendees will have the opportunity to see the innovation in action and engage with the Rivvor team.
