On March 7, 2026, the "Wakachika Workshop 2026" will take place at the vibrant Wakachika Plaza, tailored specifically for elementary school students and their parents. This initiative aims to introduce young minds to the joy of crafting while also raising awareness of the local manufacturing culture.

Participants can look forward to engaging in a variety of hands-on crafting activities, designed to spark creativity and interest in manufacturing. The day will be filled with fun as children work alongside their parents to produce unique items. In addition, the event will feature informative displays showcasing the products and innovations of local businesses, encouraging a connection to the community’s crafting legacy.

In addition to crafting, the event will include stage performances that promise laughter and entertainment! Highlights include a corporate PR stage featuring a local act at 11:00 AM and a comedy stage with the same act at 1:30 PM.

Event-goers can also enjoy displays of Wakayama’s renowned leather products. This is a perfect chance to learn about and appreciate local craftsmanship.
Registration Information
Pre-registration is required for participation in the crafting sessions. Interested families can sign up through the URL provided on the event flyer or via the QR code on promotional materials. Registration opens on February 18, 2026, at noon and will be on a first-come, first-served basis, so prompt action is encouraged!
In case there are open slots, walk-in registrations will also be accepted at the venue on the day of the event.
Important Notes
- - A parent or guardian must accompany participants for registration. Children or guardians can’t register independently.
- - Each child may participate in one craft activity only once, though they may sign up for different activities at different times.
- - As activities will be conducted on a first-come basis, once the capacity is reached, registration will close.
- - All crafting activities are offered free of charge, fostering a delightful day of learning and exploration at no cost.
- - An email confirming registration will be sent post-sign-up. Participants should bring this confirmation on the event day for verification.
- - Participants must arrive at least five minutes before the start of their chosen session.
- - Attendees should wear clothes that can get stained, especially for the T-shirt printing session as ink will be used.
