Journey to Edo: Discover Ukiyo-e and Dance
Get ready for a mesmerizing cultural experience that takes you straight to Edo with the upcoming event titled "Explanation of Ukiyo-e and Japanese Dance - A Timeless Journey in a 100-Year-Old Residence." Organized by the Edo Culture Experience Creation Council, this special one-day event will take place on May 14, 2026, starting at 14:00 at Re;PLACE KOISHIKAWA, located in Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo.

Tickets for this exclusive event are limited to just 50 attendees and will be available for purchase beginning April 4, 2026, at 10:00 through Confetti, managed by Long Run Planning Co., Ltd. The ticket price is set at 15,000 yen (including tax).
This 90-minute immersive experience is designed to provide attendees with a deep understanding of genuine Edo culture. It features a fascinating interpretation of the Edo Period's original Ukiyo-e by Yukiko Takahashi, a renowned authority who lectures worldwide at prestigious venues, including the British Museum. Attendees will also enjoy the dynamic performances of traditional Japanese dance complemented by live shamisen music. The program includes Nagauta performances of "Shichifukujin" by Naosuke Fujima and "Fuji Musume" by Shika Wakana, offering a rare opportunity to relish classic masterpieces right in front of you.
The event takes place in the historical house of Re;PLACE KOISHIKAWA, constructed in 1920 and featuring exquisite craftsmanship from a master carpenter. The venue exudes an aura of history and sophistication, making it the perfect backdrop for this cultural salon experience. The event is also equipped with English translation services to cater to a wider audience.

- - Ukiyo-e Explanation: Yukiko Takahashi, CEO of Takahashi Studio, the sixth-generation head of a family-run company founded in 1854 during the Ansei Era. She is recognized as a leading figure in the Ukiyo-e community globally.
