Aya Miyama's Background

Born on January 28, 1985, in Chiba Prefecture, Aya Miyama has an illustrious career as a midfielder for the Japanese women's national soccer team. She made her debut in 2003 and participated in four consecutive FIFA Women’s World Cups from 2003 to 2015. Notably, she was part of the team that won the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup and served as the captain of the national squad starting in 2012. Her contributions to the sport have earned her multiple awards, including the Asian Player of the Year in 2011, 2012, and 2015 before retiring her boots in 2016.
