From October 1, 2026, three Tsutaya Bookstore locations—Ginza, Roppongi, and Ebetsu—will host the highly anticipated exhibition titled 'Ikimono-tachi', featuring the works of talented illustrator and picture book author Rei Kurahashi. Known for her delicate brushwork and charming motifs, Kurahashi has captured the hearts of many fans. This exhibition will primarily showcase replica artworks created for the 2027 calendar, with a focus on the theme 'Ikimono-tachi' (creatures).

Rei Kurahashi brings forth a nostalgic and whimsical world through her creations, and visitors will have the opportunity to view and purchase original works, including a reincarnation of pieces featured in her highly acclaimed 2027 calendar. As a special treat, a selection of related books and a curated range of original merchandise will also be available, allowing fans to bring a piece of Kurahashi's enchanting world home.

To celebrate this event, uniquely crafted Takugaki Bookstore original goods will debut. These items are centered around the popular 'girl' motif from Kurahashi's artworks, capturing moments of joy, such as wandering through book worlds or spending time with animals. The merch includes:

• - Kutani-yaki plates (2 types) - 2,200 JPY each (tax included)

These magnets feature Kurahashi's intricate color palettes and textures, perfect for embellishing your refrigerator or workspace, while also bringing a slice of her illustrative story to your everyday life.

The Kutani-yaki plates, showcasing exquisite illustrations alongside traditional craftsmanship from Ishikawa, blend soft imagery with a refined aesthetic unique to Kutani porcelain. Among the exhibits will be original pieces depicted in the 2027 calendar, specifically highlighted creations such as:

Each artwork is priced at 27,500 JPY (tax included) and is intricately recreated using Giclée printing, a method used by galleries worldwide for its precise depiction of color and texture.
