About Sanuki Udon Menkiyashima

Established in 1936 in Zentsuji, Kagawa, the restaurant is currently run by its fourth-generation owner. The name is derived from Yashima, located in the northeast of Kagawa’s Takamatsu City. The udon is handmade without the use of machines, using a unique blend of domestic wheat flour, primarily sourced from Kagawa, and soy sauce from Kagawa's Kamada Shoyu. Their dashi broth is made from high-quality ingredients like Ibuki iriko, sōta katsuo, hanakatsu, konbu, and shiitake mushrooms sourced from all over Japan.

Crafting udon from flour to bowl takes approximately three days, ensuring the freshest experience for every guest. Customers are advised to allow some waiting time as the noodles are boiled to order!
