Empowering Youth in Tokyo

Tokyo is excited to announce a new initiative aimed at supporting young people through the Young Challenge Support Program. This program will host interactive exchange events where students can meet role models excelling in diverse fields. The main goal is to provide opportunities for high school and university students to engage with professionals and peers, leading them to contemplate their future aspirations and careers deeply.

Program Overview

This initiative will create a platform where young individuals can engage with their peers and seasoned professionals. By connecting with role models, participants will gain valuable insights into various career paths and the challenges they may face.

The event will focus on helping students develop their goals and take actionable steps towards achieving them while addressing society's diverse challenges on a global scale.

Call for Student Organizers

We are currently seeking students to serve as organizers for this exciting program. As a student organizer, you will play a vital role in brainstorming the profiles of role models to invite and designing an engaging dialogue platform. Working collaboratively with city officials and facilitators, your input will shape the event's success.

Key Responsibilities

• - Event Planning: Collaborate with team members to plan workshops and prepare for the events scheduled for November 21-22, 2023, where around 100 participants will gather each day.
• - Role Model Engagement: Identify and reach out to potential role models who will inspire young attendees.
• - Facilitation: Assist in executing the workshops and dialogue sessions, ensuring a productive and meaningful experience for all participants.

Program Schedule

• - Duration: A series of approximately eight events from late July until December, with meetings held in between.
• - Meeting Locations: Workshops will be conducted in conference rooms at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, and rehearsals/events at 3×3 Lab Future.

Participation Details

• - Recruitment: We are looking for about 10 student organizers.
• - Application Period: Applications are open from April 24, 2023, to June 5, 2023.
• - Eligibility: Applicants must be high school or university students residing or studying in Tokyo at the time of application.
• - Application Method: Interested candidates can apply through our application form.

Selection Process

Applications will be evaluated based on submitted materials and an online interview. Notifications of acceptance will be sent by the end of June.

Additional Perks

For participation in workshops and related activities, students will earn 1,000 Tokyo Points per session.
