BE OPEN Art Launches 2025 Regional Contest to Support Emerging Artists in Oceania
BE OPEN Art Launches Regional Contest for 2025
BE OPEN Art, an online gallery established by the humanitarian think tank BE OPEN founded by Elena Baturina, is excited to kick off its second regional art contest in 2025. This initiative aims to support emerging artists from Oceania, showcasing works that reflect their unique regional, cultural, and ethnic identities. This marks the third consecutive year of the BE OPEN Regional Art Contest, which has been instrumental in elevating the visibility of new talents in the world of art.
In 2025, the initiative will encompass a wide array of countries across Oceania, including Australia, East Timor, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, New Zealand, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu. The contest will unfold over a span of three months, culminating in the announcement of the regional winner for Oceania in early July, who will receive an award of 500 euros. This year, in addition to monetary prizes, regional laureates chosen by the public can expect special recognition from the founder herself.
Each month, the online gallery will feature the works of 20 selected emerging artists from these regions. Members of the public will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite artist, ultimately designating one as the 'Artist of the Month.' At the conclusion of this phase, one of the monthly winners will be crowned as the regional artist based on public votes and feedback from the BE OPEN artistic community.
The regional contest will run alongside BE OPEN Art's ongoing activities, which involve the selection of 20 new artists each month for the gallery. Artists are chosen through online voting, facilitating the recognition of both the monthly and annual artists series. The essence of BE OPEN Art's mission is to nurture and support emerging talent that emphasizes social awareness and aesthetic solutions to contemporary global issues. The project seeks to discover new influencers who can reshape today's art scene and encourages everyone to participate.
BE OPEN stands out as a global initiative focused on fostering creativity and innovation. It serves as a think tank aimed at promoting individuals and ideas that can shape the solutions of tomorrow. Supported by Elena Baturina – a philanthropist and international businesswoman based in Austria – this cultural and social initiative opens the door for emerging artists to gain the recognition and support they deserve.
Through the 2025 Regional Art Contest, BE OPEN Art continues its commitment to enhancing awareness of arts from diverse backgrounds while providing invaluable opportunities to emerging creators across the Oceania region. The challenge for artists is not just about winning awards, but about contributing to a larger conversation about culture and identity in the contemporary art landscape.
By encouraging public involvement through voting and engagement, the initiative aims to bridge the gap between artists and audiences, fostering a robust community focused on artistic growth and mutual appreciation. Those interested in participating or learning more about the contest can visit the BE OPEN Art gallery website, where a world of artistic innovation and exploration awaits.
