On November 1, 2025, the Shuto Region Youth Support Network will conduct a street fundraising event at Shinjuku South Exit LUMINE2. This initiative aims to raise awareness for Child Abuse Prevention Month and to support the 'Youth Support Fund,' a project designed to help youth who face hardships without parental support.

About the Organization

Founded in 2017, the Shuto Region Youth Support Network is dedicated to assisting youth who have grown up in child care facilities or foster homes, providing them with the tools they need to thrive in society. In 2018, the organization established the 'Youth Support Fund' through donations from citizens and private organizations. This fund specifically aids young people who have endured tough childhoods and lack family support. It also supports caregivers committed to nurturing these youth.

With annual research and consultations, the network has actively submitted policy proposals to related government departments to enhance the support system for these vulnerable young individuals.

Upcoming Fundraising Event

The upcoming street fundraising will take place on:

• - Date: Saturday, November 1, 2025
• - Time: 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM
• - Location: In front of LUMINE2, Shinjuku South Exit

This year, the event will involve raising funds through a donation box, setting up panels to showcase the activities funded by the Youth Support Fund, and distributing flyers to broaden the reach of this vital cause.

• - Michiko Miyamoto, Chairperson of the Shuto Region Youth Support Network (available from 2 PM onwards)
• - Masako Yamamoto, Director of the documentary film 'REAL VOICE' (attending from 12 PM)
• - Shugo Ikemoto, member of the Future Choice Conference dialogue team (participating from 12 PM)
• - Social care graduates, Youth Support Fund donors, university students, among others.
