Boviet Solar Advances Construction of Cutting-Edge Solar Cell Factory in Greenville

Boviet Solar Technology Co. Ltd., a prominent player in the solar energy sector, has reached an important milestone with its ambitious plans for a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Greenville, North Carolina. The company, known for its high-quality monocrystalline PV cells and modules, has recently announced the commencement of interior construction on its expansive 3.0 GW PV cell factory. This development follows the successful completion of exterior structures, demonstrating Boviet Solar's ongoing commitment to expanding its footprint in the U.S. solar manufacturing landscape.

Construction work at the Greenville site kicked off in January 2025, and the timely finishing of the external components paves the way for what will be one of the largest solar cell production facilities in the country. Representing the second phase of Boviet Solar's North American expansion, the Greenville factory is designed to produce high-efficiency solar cells that align with the surging demand for domestically manufactured solar products. Once fully operational, the facility is projected to have an annual production output of 3.0 GW, which will perfectly complement the adjacent 3.0 GW PV Module Factory that began large-scale production in the first quarter of 2025.

Expected to be completed and ready for mass production by late 2026, the Greenville PV Cell Factory is set to create over 900 skilled jobs, thereby contributing significantly to the local economy. This facility not only symbolizes a major investment in American manufacturing but also underscores Boviet Solar's strategy of ensuring a reliable domestic supply of high-performance solar cells for both U.S. and international markets.

"We are thrilled to witness the steady progress of our Greenville PV Cell Factory project," remarked Marco Marquez, General Manager of Manufacturing Operations at Boviet Solar USA. He further emphasized that the completion of exterior work and the ongoing interior construction confirm their timeline to initiate operations in the latter half of 2026. This expansion reflects a strong commitment to U.S. manufacturing and a vision for a robust, vertically-integrated solar production base in America.

Sienna Cen, President of Boviet Solar USA, affirmed the importance of this development in bolstering the company's long-term growth strategy. She emphasized that expanding production capabilities in the United States not only supports local content and job creation but also enhances supply-chain resilience for customers. Boviet Solar aims to provide reliable, top-quality solar products that facilitate the nation's transition to clean energy.

The Greenville PV Module Factory, which manufactures Boviet Solar's leading Gamma Series™ Monofacial and Vega Series™ Bifacial PV modules, commenced production in April 2025. Together, these two facilities will create an integrated U.S. manufacturing hub capable of producing both PV cells and modules. This initiative aims to strengthen the American solar supply chain and to provide customers with high-performance products that are proudly made in the USA.

Boviet Solar Technology Co., Ltd., established in 2013 in Vietnam, has quickly gained recognition in the solar industry. The company specializes in producing advanced solar technologies, focusing on fulfilling a diverse set of applications across residential, commercial, industrial, community, and utility sectors. Their commitment to sustainability and compliance with international trade standards has earned them numerous accolades within the industry.

As a testament to their reliability and performance, Boviet Solar has received multiple global bankability recognitions from well-respected research organizations. The company has consistently ranked as a Tier 1 PV Module Manufacturer by Bloomberg New Energy Finance since 2017 and continues to be recognized among the top-performing manufacturers in the industry.

In summary, Boviet Solar's ongoing developments in Greenville not only signify a trajectory of growth for the company but also represent a pivotal investment in renewable energy manufacturing within the United States. With a dedicated workforce and a focus on high-quality production, Boviet Solar is poised to play a significant role in driving the transition to sustainable energy solutions both domestically and worldwide.
