SVRN Completes Major Network Infrastructure Initiative for NEAR Protocol Transactions

SVRN, Inc. (NASDAQ: SVRN) has recently marked a significant milestone by successfully finishing an initiative aimed at bolstering the multi-party computation (MPC) operator network that underlies NEAR Protocol's Chain Signatures. This technological advancement is essential for individuals and AI agents to execute transactions across over 30 blockchain networks without requiring separate wallets for each network.

Enhancing the Chain Signatures Network

At the heart of NEAR's cross-network signing system are the Chain Signatures, which streamline operations by allowing a single NEAR account to manage assets on multiple blockchains. What sets this system apart is its reliance on a distributed key management framework, where a single key is split into segments held by 17 independent operators. To produce a valid signature, at least 11 of these operators must collaborate, ensuring that no single party can misuse the entire key or compromise funds.

The recent initiative not only involved securing this MPC network but also meticulously migrating each operator's key piece into a trusted execution environment (TEE). This sealed enclave, based on Intel TDX technology, guarantees that sensitive data remains inaccessible to internal or external actors, thereby enhancing overall system security.

A New Governance Framework

SVRN played a pivotal role in this initiative by authoring and implementing the incentive program, HSP-007, which funds these 17 independent operators. Approved by NEAR's governance body in February 2026, the program transformed how operators are compensated—now funded through protocol emissions and reported publicly. This transparency aims to ensure that every operator is held accountable for their service levels.

SVRN’s CEO, Sal Ternullo, stated, “Every financial system eventually has to answer the same question: who holds the keys, and what prevents the holder from misusing them?” This initiative provides an innovative solution by distributing key management among multiple operators, eliminating the risks associated with a centralized custodian.

SVRN's Commitment to NEAR Protocol

As part of its operational responsibilities, SVRN was also instrumental in vetting and onboarding the operators that joined the network, ensuring that each met stringent maturity requirements. The company has been actively running its own node since July 2026, reinforcing its commitment to the NEAR Protocol network.

SVRN’s treasury is particularly exposed to the performance and integrity of the NEAR network, holding more than 55 million NEAR tokens. Its business model relies heavily on enterprises' trust in this network, making the success of this recent initiative essential for future growth.

With the migration complete, each operator's keys are now encrypted within an environment where operators themselves cannot see the contents. This structure not only allows for confidential transactions, protecting sensitive transaction details from exposure, but also ensures that core components of the network underwent independent auditing by Trail of Bits. Changes to the network, such as adding or removing operators or adjusting operational thresholds, require collective agreement through on-chain voting, ensuring no single operator has unilateral control.

Looking Ahead

Moving forward, SVRN intends to maintain its node operation while supporting the inclusion of additional operators as the network's ecosystem grows toward its goal of 21 operators. This ongoing engagement will solidify SVRN's position within NEAR's governance and enhance its stakeholders' investment in the infrastructure essential for the network's sustainable development.

As SVRN continues its journey within the NEAR ecosystem, maintaining transparency and security will be paramount, especially with the rise of AI transactions within financial systems. The company's efforts to set a high standard in governance and operational security put them at the forefront of the evolving landscape of decentralized finance.
