IGEL Strengthens Adaptive Secure Endpoint Platform with Randy Resnick's Zero Trust Expertise

IGEL Appoints Randy Resnick to Enhance Cybersecurity Strategy

In a significant development in cybersecurity for government and critical sectors, IGEL, a global software company, has announced the appointment of Randy Resnick as its Chief Technology Officer for Government and Critical Industries. Resnick, a former senior figure at the U.S. Department of Defense and the National Security Agency, brings nearly four decades of experience in technology and cyber defense to IGEL's operations. His focus will center on advancing the IGEL Adaptive Secure Endpoint Platform™ (IASEP™), particularly in the areas of Zero Trust, cyber resilience, and multi-framework governance.

Randy Resnick has a storied career, notably serving as a leading advisor and director for Zero Trust portfolio management at the U.S. Department of Defense. In this capacity, he was instrumental in operationalizing the Zero Trust model within one of the world's most intricate technological environments. Resnick is credited with authoring the original Zero Trust strategy for the Department of Defense, contributing to significant frameworks that have transformed theoretical concepts into actionable defense strategies.

Having served over 34 years at the NSA in various leadership roles, including strategic lead for Zero Trust and Director of Cybersecurity Innovations, Resnick's extensive track record makes him a key asset for IGEL. His contributions earned him notable accolades, such as the Wash100 award in 2024 and recognition as a cybersecurity visionary in the CyberScoop 50 rankings of 2024.

Klaus Oestermann, IGEL’s CEO, highlighted Resnick’s international recognition in the Zero Trust domain, emphasizing the importance of his ability to translate transformative cybersecurity concepts into practical implementations. This approach is essential for IGEL as it seeks to expand its Adaptive Secure Endpoint Platform™ in the market.

Bridging National Security Standards with Commercial Critical Infrastructure

Resnick's transition from a leadership role in defense strategy to a leading position in commercial software serves as a robust market validation for IGEL’s platform-centric approach. The Adaptive Secure Endpoint Platform™ (IASEP™) is designed to address the security of enterprise endpoints where IT, OT, cloud applications, containers, open-source technologies, AI, and users converge. This platform integrates control, data, and execution layers, enabling organizations to enforce security policies effectively and create trusted environments across various workloads.

With Resnick’s involvement, IGEL aims to expand these capabilities, facilitating the transition of national-level frameworks into validated architectures for commercial critical infrastructure and the government sector. This includes sectors such as financial services, healthcare, transportation, energy, and public utilities, as well as extending its reach internationally to NATO countries, Five Eyes allies, and nations like Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and regions across the Middle East.

“The IASEP™ platform allows us to leverage these insights in broader, more secure applications at the edge of the enterprise,” said Resnick. “It orchestrates trust, resilience, and governance across IT, OT, and emerging workloads within an architecture that organizations can operationalize as needed.”

John Walsh, Senior Vice President and CTO for government institutions and critical industries at IGEL, expressed strong confidence in Resnick’s technical leadership and programmatic discipline. He acknowledges that Resnick has consistently demonstrated an extraordinary ability to convert transformative ideas into operational capabilities at a significant scale.

Expanding Architecture through Ecosystem Integration

Resnick will work closely with customers and across IGEL's product, engineering, partner, and market organizations to translate government and critical industries' requirements into repeatable platform capabilities. This initiative will integrate with IGEL Ready's ecosystem, linking IASEP™ to its technological partners across chip solutions, identity management, networking, SASE/SSE, cloud, virtualization, and AI. This will contribute to increasingly sophisticated security and operational outcomes—from identity management, network segmentation, and conditional access to workload isolation, context-driven security policies, monitoring, and governance.
