Wako Art Event: Celebrating the New Year
The prestigious Wako department store in Ginza is set to host its much-anticipated exhibition,
'Art Seasonal Calendar', starting December 11 and running until the 25th. This annual event attracts art enthusiasts and casual visitors alike, showcasing a delightful array of artistic creations that symbolize hope and prosperity for the new year.
A Diverse Collection of Talents
Now in its seventh iteration, this year's exhibition boasts the contributions of
14 talented artists across seven different mediums: ceramics, glass, painting, lacquerware, textiles, sculpture, and metalwork. The exhibition offers approximately
400 captivating pieces, offering a unique chance to explore a spectrum of artistic expressions that resonate with the themes of renewal and celebration associated with the upcoming year.
Among the featured works, the
Year of the Horse is prominently represented, along with various motifs inspired by the changing seasons. Attendees can expect to see exceptional pieces like Akiko Yamaguchi's painting titled
'Performer', and Koichi Koyama's ceramic work,
'Colorful Seiyan Cover'. Each artwork serves as an individual statement while collectively contributing to the event's overarching theme of seasonal beauty and artistic craftsmanship.
