Join Japan Women's University Fair in Shizuoka
On July 27, 2025, Japan Women's University (JWU), based in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, will host the "Japan Women's University Fair in Shizuoka." This special event is tailored for high school girls and their parents, featuring an educational consultation session while also providing a platform for alumni to reconnect.
Event Highlights
During the day's activities, JWU President Sato Ko will share insights on the ongoing university reforms and the value of education at JWU. The high school consultation segment includes presentations by current students from Shizuoka, showcasing their campus life, while the graduate meeting features a talk by Hara Takano, chair of the Junior Association of Japan Women's University, known for her contribution to the NHK historical drama "Hikaru Kimi e."
JWU has a rich history of over 120 years, dedicated to cultivating independent women capable of thriving in society by nurturing their potential across diverse fields. This fair aims to empower women through education and expand opportunities for students from various regions to connect and share their learning experiences.
Purpose of the Fair
In celebration of its 120th anniversary, JWU is undergoing significant reforms, including consolidating all faculties onto the Mejiro campus and revamping its academic structure. The university provides an educational environment that transcends traditional boundaries, promoting a multidimensional learning experience that welcomes students from various backgrounds. As part of this effort, starting in the academic year 2025, JWU will introduce the "Pre-Admission Scholarship Program" and the "Oufuju Scholarship" to alleviate the financial concerns of students from outside the Greater Tokyo Area.
This fair serves as a conduit for disseminating information to high school students in the Tokai region and encouraging lifelong learning and community participation among women.
