Supporting Student Aspirations in Tama Region
The Tama region, comprising four cities—Kunitachi, Hachioji, Tachikawa, and Hino—has launched an initiative called "Tama Future Co-Creation Field" in collaboration with six local universities. These institutions include Hitotsubashi University, Musashino Art University, Teikyo University, Meisei University, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, and the Global Entrepreneurship Education Promotion Committee of Chuo University. This collaborative project aims to build a platform where students can confront local challenges in Tama while developing and implementing new business ideas. The initiative is part of the Tama and Islands Interregional Cooperation Activity Grant Program for the fiscal year 2026.
This initiative aspires to do more than just support immediate entrepreneurial ventures. It aims to cultivate individuals who will maintain a lasting connection with the Tama region even after graduation. By immersing students in local culture and encouraging them to form relationships with community members, the program seeks to deepen their understanding and commitment to the area.
Calling All Students: Tama Business Design Camp 2026
The first step in this initiative is the recruitment of participants for the business design program named "Tama Business Design Camp 2026." This immersive two-day camp will allow students from diverse academic backgrounds to form teams and brainstorm business solutions focused on regional issues. Knowledge of business or prior entrepreneurial experience is not necessary, making it an accessible opportunity for all interested students. The camp is free of charge; however, participants are responsible for their travel costs.
