The Ohio Health Care Association (OHCA) recently unveiled a significant leadership change, appointing Scott D. Wiley, CAE, as its new chief executive officer, effective January 2026. With over 20 years of experience in strategic leadership and advocacy in various professional organizations, Wiley's induction is seen as a key step toward advancing the OHCA's mission.
Wiley’s Experience and Vision
Scott D. Wiley comes to OHCA with an impressive background. His earlier roles include serving as the CEO of CoreNet Global, an international organization that represents corporate real estate and workplace executives in more than 40 countries. During his tenure there, he played a crucial role in leading the organization through significant changes, enabling it to adapt to evolving industry demands while providing increased value to its members.
Prior to that, he was the President and CEO of the Ohio Society of CPAs (OSCPA) for over a decade. In this capacity, he implemented transformative initiatives that not only reshaped the accounting sector but also established national benchmarks for innovation. His collaborative efforts with key state stakeholders, including the DeWine Administration and the Ohio General Assembly, were pivotal in advancing educational reforms and workforce advocacy, effectively boosting Ohio's economy.
The board chair of OHCA, Shayne Craycraft, expressed confidence in Wiley’s ability to drive growth and stability within the organization. He noted that Wiley's depth of expertise in policy and coalition building are exactly what OHCA needs during this transformative period. Craycraft stated, “Scott’s unique understanding of trade associations and capacity to unify members, business leaders, and policymakers will reinforce OHCA's credibility.”
A Transformative Agenda
Wiley aims to leverage OHCA’s partnerships and explore new collaborations that resonate with the changing landscape of health care. The executive search committee comprised of board members reviewed nearly 100 applications before unanimously selecting Wiley, recognizing him as the best candidate to fulfill the organization's ambitious goals.
Among his many accolades, Wiley has been named to Ohio Business magazine’s prestigious list of influential figures shaping the state's economic future. Furthermore, he holds an honorary Doctorate of Community Leadership from Franklin University, reflecting his commitment to advancing community engagement and collaboration.
The OHCA, established in 1946, serves as the state's largest long-term care association, representing nearly 1,200 facilities, including assisted living communities and home care services. It plays a critical role in supporting more than 100,000 professionals engaged in long-term care services across Ohio. OHCA is also the only chartered Ohio affiliate of the American Health Care Association, which provides vital care to approximately 1 million individuals through an extensive network of member facilities.
