New Sanitation Solutions in Kumamoto

In response to the devastating Kumamoto earthquake of 2026, TOILET SEARCH, headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, in collaboration with Inploop Energy Co., has implemented innovative solutions to address sanitation needs in disaster-struck areas. Starting from August 4, 2026, they have installed a series of odor-free, infection-preventive temporary toilets under the 'Zone Zero' series in Yatsushiro, Kumamoto Prefecture.

The initiative targets critical issues that arise during disasters, such as dire shortages of toilet facilities and unsatisfactory hygiene conditions.

Installation of Temporary Toilets

A total of six infection-preventive temporary toilets have been established at key locations to ensure the affected population has access to safe and sanitary restroom facilities.

Introduction of App’s New Feature

In addition to physical installations, TOILET SEARCH has unveiled an integral feature in its toilet search app. This enhancement allows users to view the locations of temporary toilets provided during disasters in real-time.

As temporary toilets are established, they will be represented on the app's map with light green pins, distinguishing them from regular toilet facilities. This development aims to ensure that victims and rescue teams can effortlessly identify the locations of usable toilets, improving accessibility and hygiene standards during challenging times.

Future app updates will not only show installation locations but will also incorporate real-time data regarding the availability and condition of these facilities, ensuring that users have the essential information they need during emergencies.

Following the current efforts in Kumamoto, TOILET SEARCH aims to use this disaster response as a model, enhancing partnerships with government agencies, disaster preparedness organizations, and supportive companies.
