To commemorate this milestone, we are currently seeking talented supporting cast members. Call for Auditions

The audition process is straightforward: you’ll solely be evaluated based on your performance during the audition. The final selection will take place at a public performance audition on June 24, 2025, where one lucky individual will be chosen! This is a rare opportunity for aspiring actors to present themselves directly in front of the director and production team, proving your talents in the world of film.

Details of the Public Performance Audition:

- Date: June 24, 2025 (Tuesday)
- Time: 18:00 - 20:00 (20 candidates expected to pass)
- Location: Shibuya Machevar Studio, Tokyo
- Content: Participants will perform based on a predetermined theme communicated before the audition.

Note: The audition will be streamed live on the Machevar app free of charge!

Participants will also receive a special bonus: 10,000 points towards ongoing auditions for this project as a thank you for participating!

To submit your entry, please fill out the application form with the name of the audition as "0624 Chun2 Supporting Cast" and include all required information and images.

About the Film

Title: "The Manzai Girl: Searching for Myself (Tentative)"

Synopsis:
The story follows two second-year high school girls, Kanon and Nagi, who find themselves bored in their rural town and dream of the bright lights of Tokyo. Their lives change dramatically after witnessing a comedic show, where they realize the joy and power of manzai (Japanese comedic duos).

When offered a chance to win a pair of tickets to the vibrant “Waku Waku Land” by entering a comedy contest for middle and high school students, they decide to try their hands at manzai. However, their initial attempt in the qualifiers ends poorly, leaving them disheartened. Just then, their shy and sickly classmate, Sawabe, appears and ignites their passion for comedy, encouraging them to try again.

The characters discover joy in making an audience laugh, the impact of heartfelt words, and the power of friendship through setbacks and dreams. It’s a journey of self-discovery, where they learn that true friendship and the right partner on stage might just lead them to find their 'real' selves.

This heartfelt narrative showcases the essence of youth, friendship, laughter, and tears, making it a compelling girls’ movie. The title “Sanpachi” plays on the “Sanpachi microphone” used in manzai and symbolizes the courage to stand on stage and express oneself.
