Erni Loosen, an internationally acclaimed winemaker, has realized a lifelong ambition with the launch of his new venture, Perron de Mypont, located in the renowned wine-growing region of Burgundy, France. As a dedicated connoisseur of Pinot Noir, Loosen has always dreamed of producing wines in Burgundy, the varietal's homeland, and this dream is now a reality.

The Perron de Mypont wines will first hit the U.S. market in May 2025, marking an exciting moment for both Loosen and wine enthusiasts. His passion for Burgundy began 50 years ago during a formative internship, where he was captivated by the striking similarities between Pinot Noir and his beloved Riesling. Both varieties thrive in cool climates and produce exquisite wines that age beautifully.

Perron de Mypont operates from the historic Vieux Château de Puligny-Montrachet, a site that is steeped in winemaking history. In 2019, Loosen took a significant step by acquiring the east wing of the 15th-century Château, founding a restoration project that aims to blend the region's rich heritage with modern winemaking techniques. Alongside his partner, Manoël Bouchet, a respected figure in the Burgundy wine scene, Loosen’s vision is to create wines that resonate with the region's deep-rooted traditions while also appealing to contemporary tastes.

Perron de Mypont offers two distinct tiers of wine: Maison Perron de Mypont and Edition Perron de Mypont. The Maison tier focuses on regional wines sourced through traditional Burgundy Négociant channels. This segment emphasizes value without sacrificing quality, blending grapes from various growers for affordability. Initial offerings include Bourgogne AOC Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the 2022 vintage.

On the other hand, the Edition tier is designed for wine lovers who seek exclusivity. This collection features wines crafted through close collaboration with selected growers, emphasizing unique vineyard sites to capture their essence. Notable selections include the 2022 Meursault, the 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin, and Premier Cru wines such as 2019 Vougeot and 2022 Vosne-Romanée.
