Shanghai Electric Showcase Innovative Clean Energy Solutions at World Future Energy Summit 2025

Shanghai Electric Unveils Sustainable Technologies at World Future Energy Summit 2025

Shanghai Electric recently made a significant impression at the World Future Energy Summit 2025, which took place in Abu Dhabi from January 14 to 16, 2025. Under the theme "Let's Create Our Future Together", the company highlighted its commitment to fostering global energy transformation through innovation in green energy and resource management.

As one of the leaders in sustainable technology, Shanghai Electric presented a range of advanced solutions aimed at enhancing environmental conditions on the planet. Their offerings included groundbreaking advancements in green hydrogen production, sustainable formaldehyde manufacturing, photovoltaic generation, multi-source energy storage, and seawater desalination. Each of these technologies is designed to address pressing environmental challenges while promoting sustainable development.

Green Hydrogen Innovations

A key highlight was the demonstration of the alkaline electrolyzer Bristack-Z1000, which offers remarkable advancements in flexibility and the efficient transportation of liquefied gases. This system consumes 12% less energy compared to industry standards, achieving a DC power intake of 2500 A/m² and is TÜV Rheinland certified, showcasing Shanghai Electric's commitment to excellence.

Sustainable Formaldehyde Production

In the realm of formaldehyde production, Shanghai Electric has developed a sustainable technology that employs pure oxygen oxidation under pressure, gasification in a fluidized bed, and high-temperature resin conversion. This process not only enhances energy efficiency but also reduces carbon emissions substantially through reliance on wind and solar energy, paving the way for a more sustainable manufacturing process.

Next-Generation Photovoltaic Solutions

Their Creator 210R series heterojunction photoelectric module also garnered attention, boasting high efficiency, bifacial sensitivity, and a low temperature coefficient, which positions it as the next generation of monocrystalline solar panels. The innovative silicon wafer structure and manufacturing process represent a departure from traditional efficiency limits, able to capture light even under low lighting conditions. Additionally, the intelligent tracking photovoltaic bracket maximizes energy absorption.

Other noteworthy technologies showcased include phase-shifting equipment for a solar photovoltaic station in Peñasco, Mexico, and the tower-type wireless heliostat technology utilized in a solar power project in Dubai. Furthermore, the REP12 energy storage station in the UK, with an output of 100 MW/100 MWh, exemplifies Shanghai Electric’s forward-thinking approach to energy storage and management.

Advanced Energy Storage Solutions

Shanghai Electric has also introduced a high-inertia synchronous condenser with a flywheel, marking a pioneering achievement in China. This phase-shifting product is designed for both commercial and residential energy storage systems and is set for export to other countries. Its kinetic energy reaches an impressive 140 MW/s, with an inertia time constant of 11.2 seconds, providing rapid response and temporary capacity to enhance system flexibility and reliability.

Addressing Water Scarcity with Desalination Technology

Amidst rising water scarcity concerns, Shanghai Electric is also combatting the impending water crisis in the Middle East and North Africa by presenting their third-generation desalination technology. This system utilizes thermopore film binding, which significantly enhances heat transfer efficiency while reducing energy consumption. With a daily capacity to produce vast amounts of fresh water at an energy use of less than 2 kWh per ton, the technology boasts an annual utilization rate of over 95%. By utilizing environmentally friendly solutions, it helps mitigate water shortages in coastal regions and supports industrial clusters.
