HAVIK's Advanced Simulation Technology Now Used by the U.S. Army for Enhanced Training

The U.S. Army Selects HAVIK for Advanced Training Simulation

In a significant leap towards modernizing military training, HAVIK has successfully secured a contract with the U.S. Army Capability Program Executive Simulation, Training, Test and Threat (CPE ST3). This collaboration involves the procurement of HAVIK’s ATLAS and SCOUT kits, designed to enhance the Army’s Joint Fires Training (JFT) effectiveness.

A Modern Training Solution

The U.S. Army has increasingly recognized the need for cutting-edge training systems that not only improve the readiness of their soldiers but also adapt swiftly to the evolving nature of combat scenarios. HAVIK's ATLAS and SCOUT kits provide a versatile and portable solution that can be deployed in various training environments. These kits allow for configurations that support mission planning, training exercises, and after-action reviews, ensuring that soldiers are well-prepared for real-world operations.

Matt England, the President and Chief Business Officer of HAVIK, emphasized the importance of integrating proven technologies in the field, stating, "By fielding HAVIK's proven, broadly deployed, off-the-shelf Joint Fires Trainer to active-duty units today, the Army is deploying a system that already meets every requirement while giving Soldiers and instructors the ultimate say in scaling it across the force."

Key Features of HAVIK Kits

What sets the HAVIK kits apart is their seamless combination of HAVIK Core™ software and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware. The ATLAS kit serves multiple roles by incorporating instructor and student functions, while the SCOUT kit expands the number of participating students. This blend of capabilities not only streamlines the training process but also allows for scalable training—from single-user scenarios to engaging over 100 participants, irrespective of their location.

Furthermore, the kits are designed for rapid deployment, which means they can be set up in minutes. This portability mitigates the dependency on dedicated simulation facilities, a crucial benefit for the Army.

Commitment to Modernization

The purchase of HAVIK's technology is part of a broader initiative under the Soldier Virtual Trainer program, which aims to replace the current Call for Fire Trainer 3. This modernization effort underscores the Army's commitment to leveraging advanced technologies that can enhance their training capabilities effectively.

Brad Denn, CEO of HAVIK, shared his excitement about being chosen for this endeavor, stating, "Being chosen ahead of the competition is a testament to the unmatched capability of our Joint Fires Trainer right out of the case. We didn't pitch a concept for tomorrow; we delivered a prime-time capability today that will prove to operators and Army leaders that the true successor to legacy Joint Fires simulation capabilities is already here."

Informing Future Training Requirements

The collaboration with HAVIK emphasizes the Army's ongoing efforts to gather market research and refine training requirements. Donnie Ryan, a spokesperson for CPE ST3, noted that the kits will be employed at various Army training locations nationwide to gather feedback from instructors and soldiers regarding the JFT and other core capabilities of the Soldier Virtual Trainer program.

HAVIK’s approach integrates high-fidelity terrain generation, immersive rehearsal techniques, tactical decision-making support, and a comprehensive after-action review system. This holistic training ecosystem not only prepares soldiers for the challenges they face in the field but also builds a stronger foundation for mission readiness.
