Cohen Veterans Network Enhances Mental Health Services in Hawaii as They Celebrate 5th Anniversary
Cohen Veterans Network Celebrates 5 Years in Mililani and Expands Services for Veterans in Hawaii
The Cohen Veterans Network (CVN) recently commemorated the fifth anniversary of the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic in Mililani, Hawaii, with an uplifting community celebration. This milestone is not only a celebration of its significant contributions to the local veteran and military communities but also marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter aimed at broadening its mental health services through a strategic partnership with Endeavors.
During the event, which welcomed around 75 attendees, including military-focused community leaders, government officials, and local business representatives, the achievements of the Mililani clinic were spotlighted. Since its launch, the clinic has provided essential mental health services to over 2,800 post-9/11 veterans, service members, and military families. This achievement underscores the clinic's vital role in making high-quality mental health care accessible to those who have served in the armed forces.
A New Partnership for Expanded Reach
Earlier this year, CVN announced its collaboration with Endeavors, a well-respected organization that operates several Cohen Clinics on the mainland, including those in San Antonio, Killeen, and El Paso, Texas. By leveraging Endeavors' experience in managing these clinics, CVN aims to enhance the support provided to veterans and military families in Hawaii.
Dr. Anthony Hassan, the president and CEO of CVN, expressed excitement about this partnership, stating, "We are thrilled to once again partner with Endeavors, an accomplished operator of our clinics. Together, we will continue to fill the gaps in care for the more than 220,000 post-9/11 veterans, service members, and military family members across beautiful Hawaii."
The collaboration between CVN and Endeavors aims to address the evolving mental health needs of the veteran community in Hawaii, providing comprehensive services that go beyond traditional therapy.
Enhancing Mental Health Support
In a statement, Endeavors CEO Chip Fulghum emphasized the organization’s commitment to deepening its partnership with CVN: "We are honored to deepen our partnership with Cohen Veterans Network to expand mental health services for Hawaii's veterans, service members, and their families. By combining trusted local support with telehealth options, we aim to meet the growing need for care in Mililani and beyond and help families access the support they rightfully deserve."
The Cohen Clinic in Mililani is one of 22 Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinics across the United States, serving clients in 20 states. Since its establishment in 2016, CVN has served over 90,000 clients, providing more than 820,000 clinical sessions. The scope of treatment at the Cohen Clinics encompasses a diverse array of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, adjustment challenges, family dynamics, and youth behavioral problems.
Commitment to Accessible Care
One of the cornerstone principles of CVN is to ensure that mental health care is available to all veterans, irrespective of their discharge status or combat experience. The Cohen Clinics offer thorough case management services, assisting clients with social determinants affecting their health, such as employment, finances, and housing. This holistic approach is fundamental to promoting well-being within the veteran community.
Located at 95-1091 ʻĀinamakua Dr., Mililani, HI 96789, the clinic provides a welcoming environment for families seeking mental health support. Interested individuals can learn more about access to services through the Endeavors website.
As Cohen Veterans Network celebrates five years of dedicated service to Hawaii's veterans, the enhanced capabilities offered by the partnership with Endeavors promise to strengthen the support system for the state's military community even further. The future looks brighter for the veterans of Hawaii, as they continue to receive the care and resources they deserve.
